It doesn't matter if anyone replies to this, I just want to get stuff out :) I'm so stoked and excited about the things that have been going on, and it's hard for me to keep it inside. So this is more for me because i'm spilling over! :b

Every Monday morning everyone gets together here for a praise/worship gathering at Ohana Court (a covered but open air big auditorium where we have the all-school meetings) and there's a band, a few singers, and hundreds of students... and it's usually fun but today it was exceptionally fun, and great. Have you ever had one of those times when you think to yourself 'Where I am right now, at this very moment, is the coolest, best place anyone could be, in this entire world.' ? (and you just know it) I had one of those today, and I'm sure I wasn't the only one. I don't want to be preachy (I'm just telling this from my heart) but it was awesome... Being with hundreds of Spirit filled people (mostly young people, but not all) who love Jesus and who are passionate, not doing the churchy thing, which as some of you know can be boring if it's not real.

Usually it's a lot of singing, arms in the air, etc, but today the guy leading the band was really getting us to have an exceptionally good time, and I think you'd just have to be there because I don't think my description of it would do much justice. :D ;) But think of it this way... most of you know how fun it is to party? It's kind of like that, but without the 'crutch' of alcohol, and it's actually more fun because the celebrating comes from something genuine, not an artifical high (alcohol or drugs), it is because you are truly happy to be a child of God, and the things He has done in your life, so you thank & praise Him.

Ok, now that you all think I'm a Jesus freak :P, i'll stop that talk... but I still have to tell you about the things that happened. The guy leading the worship band (who was pretty young, probably early 20's) had us do this thing where everyone (and there were hundreds) linked arms at the shoulder, rows of us, and then when the band started playing the song we all just jumped up and down in unison... it sounds corny, but it was too funny and fun although some of us couldn't do it for very long, but I wish some of you could've been there, I guarantee you would've had a blast, even if you weren't a Christian.

That was just one of the things, to sum it up, it was like having a party but in the morning, and it was a blast, but most importantly you can feel God's spirit there, when there are so many people together singing songs of praise.

Also this week is going to be really good, every week we have a different speaker, and each one has been excellent, and I have gotten a lot out of each one, and I feel really lucky (blessed) to be here to learn this, because this is not the type of stuff you can learn in a regular college or at a church even, so what all the people I talked to who had gone through this told me (7 or 8 people I talked to before coming here) was true, it's life-changing, and really, really good.

I'm not saying that everything is a bed of roses, I have some issues myself that need to be worked out and sometimes going through a particularly frustrating thing can be.. well, frustrating. But it's all a part of growing and learning and that takes time, it doesn't happen overnight.

I have more to say, but I really should get off this computer... there's some things I gotta go and do... I just wanted to share stuff with whoever cares to read it. Like I said, it's ok if no one replies, it was more for me.

Oh, I almost forgot. Now we have 2 countries for sure that we are going to (we're going to split into groups), Malaysia and the Phillipines. I don't know yet which country I'll be going to, I kind of would like to go to the Phillipines, but we'll see.

Peace!

In His Love,
cindy

I love you too...:) and there's no need to worry, I'm actually mad about the stuff that was posted before I left, because it seems that (for a few people anyway), they believed that, and that is particularly frustrating to me because as I said on my other thread, it is BS. At least from everything I have seen, here where I am at.

I'm still not sure where those things came from, and I don't want to sound ultra-religious, but I do think that if a place like this can do so much good (speaking from a Christian perspective), then who would be against that? I have an idea, but I'm sure the same people who posted that stuff would probably roll their eyes, and what kind of makes me mad is that they would believe something they read on the web, not knowing the person who wrote it, yet not believe something from someone they know, and from a number of people who that person they know spent time talking to.

sigh, I'm gonna stop talking about that because it is gonna just frustrate me.

sorry for that. ;) I just needed to say that. But anyway, thank you Shell... and I will talk to you more later. <3

Thanks for the update, Cindy.

We have a good-sized Filipino presence in our church and the guy who gives our monthy missions reports is Filipino. We've prayed together over your situation, and he'd be pretty excited if you ended up there. And they speak English there so language wouldn't be a big problem, but it'd be cool to pick up some Tagalog. :)

Malaysia would also be cool. I don't know enough about that place though.

Wow, thank you and your friend for your prayers, Alan, i appreciate it. :) I'm gonna wait and see but I just want to go to where I'm supposed to go... you know what I mean. I have a tiny little bit of Filipino way way back on my mom's side of the family, I think, so it would be good to go there. :) Tagalog? :D My roommates have been giving me Korean lessons (one phrase a week) :p, so I hope I can learn another language. ;)

We had fun again today, I was going to write all about it, but I don't know if anyone else wants to hear me ramble on and on, so I'll just tell you about it next time we talk. There's so much I want to share... not just fun things but also learning... new revelations... little bits of wisdom... it's so cool to learn these kinds of things. Btw, a girl that I met before I left, at the christian bookstore I used to work at (who had gone through ywam in Haiti) told me "everyone should take a DTS class"... Now I know what she means, I want other people to learn what I've been learning and experience it, it's so wonderful and cool.

jojo - Aloha and Maholo! :) How's Colorado these days? I forget sometimes that it's fall/winter because it's so warm here! You still hunt over there?

beatle - yeah, it was... there was other stuff that we did that day that was too fun, I wish I would've had a video camera, so you guys could know what I'm talking about. :) I'll at least post some pics, if I can ever get them uploaded from my camera!

All is well. The green mountains are somewhat like those I have seen in Maui. However, noone here wears short pants this time of year. :p

I just got back from hunting blacktail with my Haole brother in law out in Portland Washington. This week I am hunting elk up near Grandby. They remain in high country, but we are waiting for the snow to force them down into the canyons and plains. :)

Aloha Kineka :)
