yikes. I was so happy for carly and the US..but I do have to agree - i don't see the appeal in Svetlana...she always looks so pouty and unhappy.

Wow, that photo of Svetlana jumping make her feet look REALLY skinny -- I hope that's some optical distortion and not the way her legs really are. I used to be a bigger fan of hers but I can't say I care for her personality. Carly Patterson sure seems fun and bouncy!

The rest of the parade was mostly local officials, junior members of the same training organization that Carly is a part of, and so forth. Lots of little kids with hopes of following in her footsteps.

cool, ya one of the only events i watched during the olympics was the last little bit of her winning that gymnastics medal

Kudos to her. Great job. I watched and was thrilled to see her earn the gold.
