JAT 07-13-2004, 02:40 AM I don't know, but it would be nice to have a bus that can keep up with today's CPU cycles. :nice: Myrddin 07-13-2004, 10:40 AM you wont see 5 Ghz this year, at least there is no indication of that big an increase from the current speeds, but certainly by the end of 05 we will see speeds of 5Ghz and above. After 5 Ghz I will be very interested in seeing at what rate the speed increases and if something like photonics will be used to increase performance. I think after 5 Ghz the rate of CPU speed increase will slow, but there will be more on chip cache memory and perhaps multiple processors per chip to try and keep the same rate of performance increase.
