I have DSL (512K) at the moment, and I'll have a 10 Mb connection when I go back to Carneigie-Mellon in a few weeks (11 Mb on the wireless network).

Hell no I won't ever go back to dialup.

Optimum Online... I've had it for 4 years now and I could never ever go back to dialup.
I'm fairly sure I get a 10Mbps connection.

I've got an old crappy DirecPC system but it was free, I only pay the monthly access charges. Out in the middle of nowhere satellite is your only choice and the new systems you have to fork over 600-800 bucks which is a 2 way high speed satellite. Screw that. We dug my dads old system out of his garage and got it working.

Downloads via Satellite dish....about 600-800 kbps.
Uploads via a phone line. Damn slow.

Its fast enough downloading for me.

i have SBC dsl..about 1.5 down and 384ish up on the desktop. in the back room (right now) I'm on the dialup service on the laptop...52K...yeah..i wouldn't want this full time, but it's easier than dragging the laptop out to the other room and hooking up to the router.....i need a wireless router :(

Charter cable. They had a free, 2-month promo at the very time my dialup ISP was pissing me off. I won't go back.
