In the beginning was 1 share of Chemical Bank stock. Chemical Bank merged with Chase Manhattan and later Chase declared a 2:1 stock split resulting in the 1 additional share for a total of 2 shares (the Chemical share is treated as a Chase share). Chase Manhattan merged with J. P. Morgan and later J. P. Morgan declared a 3:2 stock split resulting in a total of 3 shares (the Chemical share and Chase share are treated as J. P. Morgan shares).
I have to drop these off at my discount broker so he can unload them. Unfortunately, I will probably be charged more than the electronic trade fee which significantly cuts into the deal since all 3 shares together are only worth about $100.
