If so, why? Is it 9 11? The turbulence? Claustrophobia? Flying doesn’t bother me one bit. I actually enjoy it. FLY SONG!

I agree its exciting. But there is always a bit of fear in my heart while I fly. Like you cannot really control what will happen and all it will take is a failed engine or an air traffic controller asleep on the job and you crash and there is nothing you can do about it.

Oh I love to fly right up to the moment before the plane takes off, then I get a tad bit scared. Doesn't stop me from flying though, very fun experience for me, not to mention the person who sits with me whilst I'm squeezing their hand:D

good times!

I like flying. I think it's fun except for all of the other nervous people who dislike flying. :D

If you live near Denver, the club is at ground level. :|

Nope, Texas. But how would that work in Denver? The whole purpose of the mile high club is in the bathroom on the plane, while it's flying....

No problems flying but unlike sea_lover I hate take offs and landing.

I remember flying into Heathrow from Prague once and the plane was swinging wildly (well I thought it was anyway) from side to side, I nearly took up religion again.

Also I hate really cramped ecomony seats I have long legs, that makes long haul flights a real pain. Remember flying to Japan and spent most of the flight walking around the plane (well it was my first time on a 747!!!).

i'm scared of flying. it's not the pilots or controllers being in control that bothers me...i grew up around pilots and controllers, my dad is an air traffic controller....i trust them. it's more that i'm stuck in the air until the plane lands. there's nothing i can do about it. no options. none. it freaks me out. i want to stand up and pace the aisles, but they won't let me do that.

I like to fly...especially take off...when you get those butterflies in your stomach just as the plane is leaving the run way...
sit back relax with nice vodka on the rocks and good book....:nice: I like airports too.all the activity and...they're fun for people watching:D

I've accumulated about 20,000 hours over some 34 years, and never so much as scratched a wingtip or blown a tire, and that includes over 100 carrier landings, many at night.

I've done it in everything from Paraplanes to Jumbo Jets.

Trust you pro's in the left seat.

With the threat so high, what about now? I still fly with ease. :)

I love the intercontinental flights, just watch several movies while dirinking all the soda you can handle.

But they're going to start charging for all that stuff, it's inhuman.

No WAY! I love flying! :nice: I love the turbulence and the fact that they have to have barf bags in the seat just in case... :D

I love the ride to the airport when it's still dark and nobody's awake yet, all the sleepy people speaking different languages in the airport, trying to guess who's travelling to and from where and why, the duty free booze, airport bookstores which are the BESTEST, the way the toilets make that cool sucking sound when you flush... ALL of it! :D

I wish I could fly all the time! :D In fact, I've just decided that if I can't be a nurse I'm going to apply to be a stewardess or pilot or something. :nice:

I will never get on another plane as long as I live.

My fear of flying is so complete that my stomach churns whenever I have to do something so simple as drop someone off at the curb in the airport.

edit...and it was turbulence. In the middle of takeoff. We were off the ground and a gust of a wind slammed us back onto the tarmac and we bounced off of it. That was the moment I decided man wasn't meant to fly.

I seem to have bad luck with flights. I've had absolutely horrid turbulence going across the Atlantic and cross-country.

I flew from the East Coast to Chicago and it was a mess- four hour delay to take off (stuck on the runway in my seat with my bosses- fun business trip that was) and then maybe four hours in the air as the pilot would go off course and just circle at times to avoid storms.

I used to be scared but now Im only a little bit scared and I like it. watching clouds from above is one of the treats of life.

If things are going to go that way its a relatively predictable short suffering way to die, which is good. I'd rather die after the trip, preferably a hedonistic, tropical one ;).

Same here, I fly on Southwest from Baltimore to Cleveland each week, and it now seems like a 1 hour busride.

Southwest is one of the better Airlines.
Beware of Continental,God himself would be scared to fly with Continental.
I will soon start a thread in the Whine Cellar about that terrible Airline.
The worst food, customer care, service and the airline is synonymous with disorganization.

No. I love flying - I have no fear of heights.

I also love looking down from the top of sky scrapers and am rather non-plussed that the Eiffel Tower has a cage around the top so one cannot lean out and look out over Paris.
