From a Kerry Speech in PA.

“One of those big choices is over health care. I believe the Bush tax giveaway for the wealthy is a mistake and an injustice. And I believe that money could be better used to finally get health care costs under control.

“Americans are staggering under the growing burden of health care costs that are out of control. And the fact is George Bush hasn’t lifted a finger to do anything about it. So I will use the money George Bush spends on tax cuts for the wealthy to make health care affordable for the middle class. Part of that includes a tax cut for working people and the small businesses that employ them. And a tax cut for Americans between 55 and 65 – so that they can afford health care too.

“The plan I’ve offered will save Americans up to $1,000 a year on their health care costs. And if George Bush thinks Americans would rather have tax cuts for the very wealthiest, I welcome that debate. George Bush has stubbornly stood by while health care costs have steadily gone up – by double digits every year. And every year he’s been President, more than a million Americans have lost their health insurance.

“The millions and millions of Americans – with and without health insurance – who fear opening their medical bills are the unheard majority in this debate. They’re not silent, they’ve just been ignored. No more. I will be the President who makes their voices heard.”

His plan is an 895 billion dollar over 10 year program.

He has campaigned on repealing the tax cuts on those earning over 200K. Thus tax increase on them would only gain Kerry 250 billion dollars over 10 years according to the washington Post http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A51624-2004Mar11.html.
How does he expect to pay for it?

Who wants to bet that Kerry would raise all our taxes?

I read that Kerry wanted cuts for people under 200K and a 2.5% increase for people over 200K?

Maybe he just plans on defecit spending Bill? Isn't that how GWB has payed for 50% increase in discretionary spending?

That sounds about right.

Although Clinton made the same promise of a middle class tax cut.
Since Kerry's level of dishonesty rivals that of Clintons I must say I flat out don't believe him and would be pleasantly surprised if he stuck to his promise of a deeper tax cut.

Maybe he just plans on defecit spending Bill? Isn't that how GWB has payed for 50% increase in discretionary spending?

If that is it, fine, then he should say so and should not criticise Bush for deficit spending.

Do we want even more irresponsible deficit spending though?
Sheesh. Don't we have enough as it is?
