Just wondering what people think would have happened if Britian had actually done what Hitler expected, and stayed out of World War 2? Hitler would then have had just about a free hand in Europe (Not sure if France would have tried to take Hitler on without british help) and North africa, Europe wouldn't have been blockaded by the royal navy, and Russia probably wouldn't have recieved any convoys from the allies (as Britian was mainly behind them). America would have probably had a much harder time in the pacific, as there would have been no need for Britain to hand over her RADAR secrets to them, reducing the large advantage the USA had over japan in this area (though I still doubt Japan could have overcome the American Industrial might).

Any other views?

I'm thinking that if Hitler hadn't invaded Russia Britain would be goose stepping and speaking German right about now.

If the Japs hadn't attacked us, we probably wouldn't have ever got involved.

A lot of "what-if" scenarios can be posed I suppose. Singuarly, nobody could have stopped Hitler. Not Britain, not the U.S., not Russia. What if we hadn't all worked together? ;)

I don't know about that. The RAF had out fought the Germans to control the skys over Britain and the channel, and the Royal Navy had Europe Blockaded, and North Africa wasn't going all Germany's way, and was eventually won by Britian. Britain could also probably have brought in more troops from the Empire if she had needed too. I am not Sure if Britain could have won the War and defeated Germany in Mainland Europe without help, but I am not convinced she couldn't have fought Germany to a stalemate. Invading an Island that has both naval and Air superiorty isn't the easiest thing to do in the world ;)

Also the war between Russia and Germany was pretty much a given, but if it hadn't have happened, Britain would have been able to use the equipment and supplies She sent to Russia herself.

We got bombed AFTER we declared war ;) It would have been possible for Britian to stay out of it, as there would have been no reason for Hitler to declare War on Britain, She was the Most Powerful nation in the world, and she didn't have anything Hitler really wanted. She was also an Aryen nation according to Hitler, and he admired the British for their Empire. It would have left two major world powers staring at each other accross a very small body of Water though, So its possibly a War between them would have happened soon or later. But it would have given Britain a chance to prepare for it.

I would agree. The Germans could have tooken Britian with a seaborn invasion. The so called Battle of Britian showed that British air power was superior but it should be noted that the battle was fought entirely over british airspace. A german seaborn invasion on the south coast of england would have crushed the british in a matter of weeks.

If I were Hitler I would have kicked ass and only after all British resistance was crushed would I have invaded Russia.

I personally think Hitler's own erratic war strategy defeated the Nazis.

I would add that declairing war on the US after Pearl Harbor was not too bright. Its probibly true that Roosevelt would have gotten his war in Europe, it would give the United States less justification to join the European theater.
