North Korea warms to Kerry presidency bid

North Korea's state-controlled media are well known for reverential reporting about Kim Jong-il, the country's dictatorial leader.

But the Dear Leader is not the only one getting deferential treatment from the communist state's propaganda machine: John Kerry, the presumptive Democratic candidate, is also getting good play in Pyongyang.

In the past few weeks, speeches by the Massachusetts senator have been broadcast on Radio Pyongyang and reported in glowing terms by the Korea Central News Agency (KCNA), the official mouthpiece of Mr Kim's communist regime.

And the Ku Klux Klan endorsed Reagan.

I searched the KCNA website and only found one sentence involving Kerry: "Senator Kerry who is seeking presidential candidacy of the Democratic Party sharply criticized President Bush, saying it was an ill-considered act to deny direct dialogue with north Korea."

There is a rather large difference between a group of rednecks' endorsement and that of a communist government with nuclear aspirations.

There is also a difference between a real and phony endorsement

Powerboss, this is the sort of thing I'm talking about when I say you post utter BS. What a waste of a click.

Please put this garbage in humor in the future. Oh wait, that won't happen-you've use a little caution icon like it implies that it means something.

...If we put every Kerry post in humor why would we need to have a 2004 election section?

This makes alot of sense. I mean Kerry is a communist. He has voted hudreds of times in the senate to destroy America;s defense capabilities and intelligence. Why on Earth would the North Koreans want someone like Bush who has already liberated 2 oppressed nations and has challenged North Korea head-on? A vote for Kerry is a vote for Kim Jong Il.

The fact is that the "Defense" budget of America is about 7 times thatof the next highest state spender on the military and only $36 billion less than what the rest of the entire world spends on "defense" with the US spending $466 billion while the rest of the world combined spends $500 billion.

Calling Kerry weak on defense when the military budget is grossly disproportionate to any likely threat is BS. I thought conservatives liked fiscal responsibility. Oh, I forgot. Only when it applies to social programs, not when it applies to "defense" and lining the pockets of defense contractors.

Stange but isn't he also criticising Bush for being "unilateral" in regards to Iraq?

Once again, its flip-flop Kerry.

It does mean something. Our enemies want Kerry to be elected. Gosh darn, I wonder why.

That is exactly right. He has a 20 year career of trying to kill our defense and intelligence progams. Even Democrats in the past have commented on how wreckless his proposals were.
He is our enemies wet dream.

Well, National defense is explicitly stated in the Constitution as the FEDERAL governments job. Social programs are not, they can be handled by the states.

Our defense budget has been slashed ever since WW2 in terms of percent of the budget. It was around 50%, it is now around 20%.
These big dollars go towards hi-tech weapons that reduce casualties among troops and civilians. Or would you rather just huge carpet bombing runs?

Kerry is weak on defense. If he had his way we would not have the Apache Helecoptor, the Abrahms tank, the Patriot missile, the Tomahawk missile, which are just a few of the important systems in use today that make our troops safer and enjoy a battlefield advantage.

I don't see it that way,the way I see it is hate is hate, period.

Now,I do not link Reagan [who I deeply dispise] with the KKK endorsement because he didn't seek or accept it,the same is true for Kerry .

SYM-

And one (the KKK) is possibly a form of domestic terror against Americna citizens, whereas the other is a country, which while making inflamatory rhetoric, has yet to take action against us.

Bush views N. Korea as so 'low' on the totem pole that he's done nothing in regards to their revelations of violations of agreemtns with us and pursuit of nuclear weapons, why are you guys so afraid then?

I don't really think there is or has ever been a "military" fear of NK. The issues are a bit more complex with a SK population looking for reconciliation and all the other neighbors such as China and Japan hoping not to get dragged into anything.

Of course, the NK would prefer an appeasing Dem who will give them candy more than a hard nosed Rep telling them to go **** themselves....
