So lets see...I went to a discussion on a Faire this weekend. The people running the fights are from the armored combat group I am in. They revealed that they will be doing jousting this year at two faires, and expressed interest in having people trained with handling the horses before and after the combat.

I went to the guy running the jousting team and we talked. After I told him some of my qualifications he invited me to join that branch of the group.

From what I understand I will be the Horse Master. Basically I will lunge the horses in the morning and an hour before the show. I will also make sure they are fed for the course of the faire. Another thing will be to take charge of the horse once a rider is dismounted. I imagine I will also saddle the horses and put the barding on them as well.

Once I get my kit together I will be jousting as well as they want a bigger guy to be on the horses also. Right now are two jousters are skinny guys...one is tall and the other is short.

Should be a fun summer for me :)
