It has been said that it is only a matter of time before the USAF will be able to control the weather. I have been hearing alot of talk about this on Art Bell's show (yes, I listen to him WAY too much). I hope to get some url's on more info tonight.
Just thought I would post and see what others think.
ok, here is one link http://www.talion.com/almanac.htm
Whats interesting are the comments that Tesla had made before his death...many think he was working on a means of weather control...

Beyond high and low temp, the damn weather man can barely even predict whats its going to do tomarrow. I think it is a real bad idea to even try it. While we are at it why dont we just see if we can get a volcano to blow, or cause an earthquake? And why do we want to do this?
. According to an ABC News report, the U.S. military could gain a tactical advantage by changing the weather. By creating rain that turns battlefields into mudbaths the military could immobilize enemies. Triggering lightning over airfields would keep hostile aircraft on the ground. Burning through a heavy fog would give U.S. fighter pilots a better view of enemy targets.
War. Excuse me while I go puke.
I heard one night that claims were made that the US Gov changed weather paterns during Vietnam, in an attempt to flood th Ho Chi Minh (sp) trail.
ALso, they said that one way it is being done is via Contrails left by aircraft. They somehow put chemicals into them. If you ever sit out and watch contrails, most will either go away or turn into big clouds... hmmmmmm......

i think modifying the weather is possible, I remember reading a long time ago how they could "seed" clouds to create rain for agricultural reasons.
Controlling the weather on a large scale is a whole new ball game.....

Trying to control the weather on any level is wrong. Need rain? Thats what irrigation is for. There is no reason to piss off mother nature on purpose. Thats just bad ju-ju.
well, seems like the US, China and Russia are in a race to see who can control it first.

interesting. if we can, than could we not create weather too, like on another planet or something? or how about a real genisis project?

Well, the thing would be the methodology...
Take mars for example...with little to no real atmosphere....I think it is .06Bars on the surface...
Could we create 'weather' like rain out of that?
