LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- The leader of a prostitution ring that ran a two-page advertisement in the phone book was sentenced to nine years in prison.

Rimma Fetissova, 43, also was ordered Tuesday to pay a $250,000 fine on her convictions in November of money laundering, pimping and pandering.

She was arrested after a two-year police investigation that began when a detective noticed the big ad.

Why aren't the publishers of phonebooks and entertainment weeklies who print these ads not regarded as accessories to the crime?

And why do I keep getting a busy signal?

The detective had to make his case from a variety of positions.

So if it was a one page ad she would have never been discovered?

I hate that stories like this never show the thing their reporting on, in this case, the ad.

Exactly jed. I wonder what was 'overt' about the ad?

Or was it just like for a 'gentlemens' club...
