What do you do for a living?

I do nothing, because I am worthless, tax-thieving sponge.

During the summer, however, I excel at being an office bitch and working with computer software, but I apply for pretty much any job that pays more than $10/hour. For the first two months of last summer, I did odd construction jobs day to day.

Occasionally, I do some part-time work transcribing Hudson's Bay Fort Edmonton fur trade journals from the 19th century into legible type. Mostly I'm too busy with school.

When I'm really strapped for cash, I donate 60 cc's of blood to my uncle's nephrology experiments for $30 a pop so he can check for lymphocytes. I can only do that once a week or so, though. :/ There was a time when you could donate blood to Canadian Blood Services in exchange for a chicken dinner, but those days are gone. :( I'd save hundreds of dollars every year if they still did that.

Airport Operations Supervisor. I drive around the airport in a Durango and make sure we are w/in FAA compliance. Usually we aren't, and I report it, and nothing gets done. As goes life

Engineer.

Specifically, we design wire harnesses for Toyota. Basically, anything electric/electronic in the vehicle needs to be connected to something. The ironic thing is that you never see our work (except if you see the harness in the engine compartment, or the grommet between doors) yet it's one of the most important aspects after powertrain.

I take care of doctors. Well, residents to be exact. I manage their files, making sure they are doing their required reports. Lots and lots of paperwork.

I edit scientific papers every once in a while. If all goes well, I'll spend a couple of months doing medicinal or process chemistry for a pharmaceuticals company this summer.

I am a warehouse manager for a large Manhattan based Company. I manage all the equipment, keep inventory and make sure all equipment is delivered to the end users.

On the side, I repair and build computers and help out my cousin with his rock carving business.

I work as a Field Service Engineer for a company out of Germany. We manufacture the machinery that prints new money and destroys old money for several countries (somewhat like the Federal Reserve here. We also supply machinery for counting/facing/organizing/strapping large quantities of money for several countries, the US included, to use in federal reserves, large banks, and even casinos. I have an office in my home, and am pretty much just on call. I handle some problems on the phone, and travel out to customer sites to handle others. Overalll pretty hard to beat...I'll never be a millionaire, but I like what I do, don't actually work a lot of hours, and am home a lot! I used to travel full time for a company out of Switzerland doing pretty much the same time, which did let me see a lot of the US, but am a little more settled now at the ripe old age of 28!

Oh yeah, my gf things I pretty much just goof off all the time...I'm just waiting for her to finish her Bachelor's so she can contribute! :D

SWEET! I too am in Payroll, sort of a different role though.

I am the Payroll System Administrator for a rather large medical center. Basically, I make sure the system stays up to date with latest patches, updates, and tax changes. I also write reports and test any programming changes made by our system developers. Sounds kind of boring, but I find it interesting. Plus, it pays well and I get 30 paid days off every year. I actually like my job, something few people can says, or so it seems.

UPS slave. I've been working inside UPS hubs damaging and stealing your stuff for years.

I just today started a class that will allow me to do all that plus rampage around in public with control over a multiton commericial delivery truck.

And I'm in the process of interviewing for positions that will place me in the position to convince you that your stuff isn't really getting stolen.:D

Work at Panasonic. The hours suck (5 Am to 5 Pm, and I am a night person who hates getting up before noon). But Its really laid back. Take calls. Help people fix their cash registers. Help get computers to work. Sometimes will assist in the pre staging of systems (which sucks).

Computer Manager (nearly retired).
Sort out problems, keep the buggers up to date and generally pull the plug out of the wall when the nasty little creatures play silly beggars.
Five weeks to go. Then I shall have to think of something to keep me busy.
