Throwing darts is a hobby of mine. I play in a league, and in tournaments on the weekend. Good money is involved. Tournaments we have blind card draw and play partners.
We play 501 Open in/Open Out
Cricket
Tie breaker- 701 Open in/Double Out
League play consists of 301/Cricket and 1- 701 game
Does anyone play for fun?

Do you play steel tip or plastic? Where I live we have to use plastic tips for the electronic board.

I play for fun whenever I find a dartboard... My uncle has a plastic-tip electronic one... I am not very good, but I still find it fun to play.
I prefer playing count up or something instead of 301/501... :)

I play a few times a month ... usually steel tips (hammer heads).

I shot league for about 5 years. Open & handicap, SISO 501, DIDO 301, cricket. Been in a 2 or 3 year layoff, and I think I'm about to pick it back up.
Give those soft-tips to your kids to play with, and get yourself some steel tips.

Steel tip is illegal in my parish (county) so, looks like soft tips is all I have to play with :(

I guess Johnny law doesn’t trust you southerners (at least in your parish) with hard pointy objects.... well at least in public where there's alcohol available.

Yeah in the 2 parishes surrounding me steel tips or not allowed. I could go to another parish and throw, its just not as much fun. My friend has a steel tip board at her house, I may try to throw on it sometime. The darts are much heavier with steel. I throw a real light weight soft tip.

I used to when I hung out in bars. I actually played for money and was pretty good at it. I dont have time for that now.

I love the game but suck at it for i haven't played in years
last time i played was two years ago and i lost a $20 wager on it but the thing is i hadn't pla for two yrs prior to that oh well:mad:

I am now in a money league. Its mixed doubles, and I have a kick ass partner. I am having to reschedule games right now, thanks to my broke ankle. :(
