Thoughts? Damaging to families? Damaging to society?

Not sure. Certain sects of the Mormon faith follow the ideal. I say if you can pull off keeping more than one woman happy then more power to you.

In it's current, most prevalent form, polygamy treats women like posessions.

If we intent to create a free, fair, and equal society, both women and men must be understood as individuals, not baby factories.

So polygamy should work both ways, then, in order for it to work. Women should be allowed to have multiple husbands as well as husbands multiple wives.

From an ideological point of view, why not? I mean, if people want to marry multiple people, im all for it.

but like Miscreant said, it makes women more like objects.

It also creates a shamble of the tax code.

It also is highly likely that a man/woman wouldn't be able to support all of the children he has fathered.

Further, i just don't see it as MY point of view on marriage. To me, it is about love, and I don't belive you can love (in that way to that extent) more than 1 person.
