i have this theory, now it may sound paranoid, but dont all conspiracy theories have a touch of paranoia in them? they'd have to in order to work, i believe.

well, anyway, i have this theory that wink smilies are put on message boards to taunt and confuse me. they are placed there by the devil himself. these smilies are placed in some of the strangest sentences. usually a smilie denotes some sort of emotion, a visual aid if you will. but sometimes, sometimes, all they do is confuse.

take these examples:

1.

"well, i'll talk to you later, dude. see ya later, eh?"person A

"im going to the post office ;)." person B

now, generally, a wink will be included in a sentence so that the speaker can convey some sort of inferred message to the reader. this will usually follow some sort of prompter sentence, but this doesnt seem the case in the above example. the wink smilie just sort of hangs there, misunderstood.

will add to later.

the wink smilie is starting make me break out in hives. i do believe part of the freakishness of the wink smilie is that it seems to be 'lacking' an eye. :| i mean, really, its a pity. the poor smilie seems to need a monocle, an eye patch or a prosthetic eye.

besides, its smarmy. :|

You have to open up the source HTML file, after the wink smiley there is a peice of hidden code. That code is what they are getting across.
