As an anti to the Crappy Beer thread...

What are some examples of a well crafted beer?

The two main styles of beer are lager & ale and they break down into any number of sub-species.

Ever have a beer that just defined refreshment for you?

I'm fairly knowledgable about how beer is made but I'm far from being a beer snob. My personal favorite is pilsener.

One lager I really enjoy is a German brand called Hackerpshore(sp). It's hard to find on tap but definately worth the effort.

I love english bitters. Tetley's, Boddington's, (I need to find some more...)
I like wheat beers, I love Franziskaner. However, I don't like Hacker Pschorr's wheat beer. Also Belgian Whites are good too (which is basically wheat...)

Guinness is classic, and for Lagers I like Heinekin (sp?) Harp and some of the microbrews around here. (Anyone heard of Bell's?)

Nope.

I'm not much of a fan of wheat beer of any kind.:P

Ah...the Red Stripe!

Fabulous "pounding" summer beer.

Beats Corona by a country mile IMHO.

Hoegaarden's nice, but pricey; Guinness is an ever-reliable standby, especially when you don't want to inavdertently get too plastered. Real ales in all their varied and oddly-named splendour are grand, as is Brains (my local brew).

I find the "Old School India Pale Ale" from Dogfishhead to be superior. Czech out the link here...
