View Full Version : Whats your Poison? 302Riz 11-13-2003, 07:39 PM Whats your favorite drink or beer? Mine... Killians Red, Yuengling, Heineken and Guiness. Not a liquor drinker. Unrepresented 11-13-2003, 07:50 PM British Ales is my number one. Newcastle, Boddingtons, Bass, Tetley's, etc. Manu 11-13-2003, 07:52 PM Rum. Any kind. captain and whalers especially. buggy 11-13-2003, 08:00 PM Beer. Cold and wet. Tecate is awesome, con sal y limon. Carta Blanca. I enjoy Heineken. Michelob Ultra (for obvious reasons). PFDarkside 11-13-2003, 08:01 PM Originally posted by Unrepresented British Ales is my number one. Newcastle, Boddingtons, Bass, Tetley's, etc. Minus the Bass, plus Harp and Guinness. :nice: I'm a big fan of beer... all kinds. I even appreciate the Buds, Coors Originals and Milwaukee Best Ices... but I love geed beer. Buggy, I find that the benefit of going to light beers is very minimal for the loss in taste. Even Guinness is no worse than a Budweiser. (Which is 20 calories more than Bud Light) Another thing, one "drink" is equivalent to about 100 calories, maybe a bit less. So when you find a beer with low calories (Ahem, Miller Lite) You'll find a really low alcohol percentage. Ponycar_302 11-13-2003, 08:02 PM Sam Adams Lager, Sam Adams Golden Pilsner, Lebatt Blue, and Red Stripe. I also love German Pilsners and Weissens, but you can't get any good ones here in the States. 302Riz 11-13-2003, 08:13 PM Oh yea, gotta give props to Red Stripe :nice: Thanks for reminding me Glenn :) buggy 11-13-2003, 08:21 PM Originally posted by PFDarkside Buggy, I find that the benefit of going to light beers is very minimal for the loss in taste. I am actually more concerned with carbs. A twelve pack of Smirnoff Ice had like, 1200 carbs or so... yowzah. Chris 11-13-2003, 08:38 PM In Australia I usually drink Cooper's Pale or Dark ale. Cooper's is the best Australian beer IMHO. Kareem 11-13-2003, 08:42 PM Any type of cold beer Ill drink with no problem. Any my fav liquor is Hennessy. You chug it fast enough, you get a nice buzz going :nice: mike75 11-13-2003, 09:03 PM And my favorite drinks are gin straight and crown royal straight. There is nothing better than just drinking one of those two staright. But Budwiser and Miller High Life is my favorite beers. buggy 11-13-2003, 09:06 PM Originally posted by mike75 If your concerned about carbs you shouldn't drink beer!!!!! It's not so much as a 'concern', but a precaution. :) What's it matter to you anyways? Am I buggin' ya by drinking low carb beer? LOL. I was responding to PFDarkside. :) Potyondi 11-13-2003, 09:08 PM Straight gin tastes like ass. Thankfully, it mixes with everything. mike75 11-13-2003, 09:11 PM Originally posted by buggy What's it matter to you anyways? Am I buggin' ya by drinking low carb beer? LOL. I was responding to PFDarkside. :) No but I hate people who tell me that they drink light beer becuase it has less carbs. Well if you were really conserned with watching carbs, you probly shouldn't be drinking beer. Just an opinion. Now I will drink it when it is out of a keg and there is no othere beer at the party but I still don't like it. Kareem 11-13-2003, 09:12 PM Originally posted by Chris Do you drink it straight or mixed? I did 5 shots of everclear one night then drank about 8 beer. It was not a good morning that next day!!!!! That would be lame. :p There is obviously a demand for low carb beers if they're made, right? Ok. Geez, can you bridge the gap even further by saying there is a high demand in heroin in some parts? There is no comparison there, Kareem. Beer is good, yum. Alot of people drink light beers for the less filling reason, what is the huge deal? buggy 11-13-2003, 09:30 PM Originally posted by mike75 Well compared to most mindless drones I deal with at collegei do like being different. If you're drinking so much, you'd probably be better off drinking normal brandy. Cognac is just expensive brandy from a particular region of France and if you're puking off it, you're wasting your money. A shot of Hennessey dropped in a mug of guiness (Irish Car bomb) rocks. You chug it fast enough, you get a nice buzz going Drinking Hennessey in Guiness is just conspicuous consumption. I defy you to note the difference between a shot of reasonable and inexpensive brandy (eg St. Agnes from Australia) and Hennessey in your Guiness. Hell, you could probably get the cheapest, nastiest brandy you could find and not taste the difference. 206 11-13-2003, 09:40 PM If I could afford it, I would drink 'Steinlager' from New Zealand. Unfortunately, around here( I think), it's over $50.00 a case. BOO! I got from a bar I used to go to about eight years ago and it was on special at $26.00 a case. Than it went up to $56.00 a case. And... that's what the bar paid. I also like Guiness Extra Stout (on tap-by the yard). I usually drink Milwaukee's Best Ice. Cheap and gives a good buzz. 5.9% alcohol by volume. :) :) :) Red 11-13-2003, 10:15 PM vodka and rum mostly... screwdrivers or rum & cokes.
