Ok so my boss calls me in and has a conversation with my over my attendence. Apparently I have had 3 incidents since I started here (June) that forced me to call in for the day. I remember each incident. Incident #1 was the sudden death of my Aunt, Incident #2 was a car accident and Incident #3 was a stomach virus that was so bad I didn't know which end to put on the hopper.

None of them was a mental health day and so forth. My boss just wanted to bring it to my attention. She said she knows that I am a good worker and is VERY happy with my work/attitude/etc. She said this was not an official meeting just a meeting to cover her own ass just in case something comes of it, which she immediately followed up with "I don't think it will go further"

So all in all I guess this is good but what puzzles me is that we have people here who call in sick all the time, and it is VERY obvious it is a mental health day. How do I know it is obvious? Well the person comes in the next day talking about his day spent at the beach or something. Oh and while they are here they are not good workers. They keep their phone unavailable, take long lunches as well as many smoke breaks.

The puzzle? I wonder if they are getting talked to as well. I was planning on talking to my boss about this if it got worse, especially with alot of the projects coming up, but now it may look like I am doing a tattletale thing cause I got talked to.

Guess I have to wait awhile and then say something.

Well.. I know that, but say it out loud once and you'll see:D

No..for real, I wouldn't worry to much right now. If it does..go the source and ask him if he has a problem with the days you missed. You don't have to snitch on any co-workers, you don't want to anyways. They have to know about them too.

Or.. Maybe they just don't like you and stuff:eek:
Then your screwed..

Heh.. cheer up Mr:D

My understanding of management is that they demand the most out of those who demonstrate that they produce the most. Slacky McSlackerstein over there in the corner is written off as a lost cause. Johnny Workhardalot however is the lynchpin to the company's profits and therefore expected to continue on in this path sans change.

Instead of doing a lot of work on all the slackers and average workers to bring them up to Mr. Workhardalot's levels, they'd rather just give the minimal threats and warnings to him, since he basically carries the company on his back.

Cynicism? Never!:|

You have a point...they have given me more projects and such and I get them done fairly fast...faster than my co-workers.
