I hate my parents. No matter what I do I cannot win.
I dont think like them, they tell me to seek counseling.
Im so friggn mad I cant even think straight. I sooo cant wait to move out.
I have an extra room.
I understand man. It's tough living with the rents... that's why I moved out at 18 and never looked back. We get along much better since.

I dont think we will ever get along. I am the total opposite of my parents (thank god). Any time they see me happy, they feel the need to bring me down to their level.
When we get into arguments, they never listen to what I say. Even worse is we could have the same argument an hour or 2 later about the same thing. They just love beating a dead horse.
If I cared what they thought or what other people thought of me, I wouldnt be with my girlfriend now...
Just remember... you pick there retirement home.
:nice:
I don't suppose a Kitty would work to cheer you up?

Jesus is this crap unrelenting! My mother just called me on my cell phone at work to aploagize. And what do we do? Argue more!
I know how you feel man. I moved out of my parents house because of all the tension. They are just too far into their routine to change now, so just try to stay away as much as you can, and just avoid trouble. I had em over here for 2 weeks and it was getting too much. I don't know if its normal or not, but it's the same for me...
why do you think I moved to another continent ;)

I wish I had the option to move to another continent. But it probably wont do any good...
They dont get that the times are different. It was much easier for them than it is for us. I would have moved out a long time ago if I could afford it. All of their arguments revolve around money. They think im "cheap". All im trying to do is pay off my debts and save up money for my wedding and house. I have my own priorities to take care of.

Birthdate: July 20, 1977. That makes you 26. You were due to move out on your own a long time ago.

I would have loved to move out a long time ago. On the salary I make, the expenses I have (at the moment) and where I live, I cannot do it alone. A decent apartment on Long Island usually costs $800-1000 a month. A decent apartment in Brooklyn costs considerably more thats in a good neighborhood.
I have been commuting into NYC (for work) for the last 3 years and each month I spend over $250. If I didnt have to commute, I would have had atleast an extra $10,000 that I could have used towards savings or rent for an apartment.
I would get a second job but I am out of the house 12+ hours a day. Leave my house at 6:15 AM dont get home till 6:30. There isnt too many places around here that would hire someone to work 2-3 hours a night. Ive looked, there isnt too much out there.
On top that, I havent gotten a raise from my current job in over a year.
