I've heard of it, see no reason to plunk down the big bucks for the system and subscription fee for something I can get for free. BTW, it's not commercial free either.

Only reason I'd get it if I was a cross country trucker or something.

i think only a few of the stations are commercial free, and a lot of the stations are just audio broadcasts of TV stations or something, i dunno, i could be wrong. plus the controllers for your car are like 300 bucks without a CD player attached.

the units are pricey and you have to pay 10bux a month for the service!

I bet it is sweet though, I like to crank up my home stereo on the music channels on my digital cable alot.. they sound sweeeet when it is hooked up thru my optical connections :D

Its great.

But, I am not willing to spend the money on it, and I bet most others arent either.

Ill wait until the prices drop.

I would prob get it if I didn't have to pay a monthly fee.

I would miss my talk shows though :(

well, maybe not. I think most radios would be AM/FM/XM
yeah, that makes sense

here (http://www.xmradio.com/) is the main site for more information on it.

interesting quote some of the actual channels may carry minimal advertising

kinda reminds me of those CD clubs. "if you want the featured selection for the month, do nothing! We will send it to you automatically! If you don't want it, just send it back"

lol

If I get this, will David Bowie fall through the ceiling like in those commercials? If so, where do I sign up?

I see no use for it myself. The only radio I listen to any more is talk, which is syndicated all over the place now. Otherwise I pop in a CD.

I see it sort of like the satellite TV with 300 stations. How many of those 300 are you going to listen to regularly? Not too many, I bet.

If it is a car stereo toy I prolly have it so feel free to ask away ..lol i didnt even see this thread. I find it fun to be able to never lose a station thats for sure. Plus it is such a nice accompanyment to my voice command stereo.. Eclipse makes awesome car radios for anyone who is interested. it can be programmed to change radio stations turn on and off your headlights and windshield wipers and tons of other fun features for those out there obsessed with car electronics like me..

Yeah, but part of the fun of long car trips is finding some crazy local radio station when you're out in the middle of nowhere. The sort of thing you'd never listen to in a million years at home, never mind regularly, but you just can't turn it off as you're zooming down the highway.

Then again I'm the guy who has never had anything other than a factory-installed radio in a car and at one time even used a $25 boom box plugged into the lighter to listen to tapes.

but, when 1 of those 300 stations plays something you can't find locally, and your wife REALLY likes, you buy it ;)
