Yep. Its getting close to that time for me to propose to my lovely girlfriend Debra. We've been going out for almost 3 years. (It will be 3 years in January).
I realized a loooooooong time ago that she was the one.:)
So, anyway we went into the diamond district in Manhattan to look at some engagement rings.
The first jewelry store we go to Debra finds the ring that she wants. She asks the person behind the counter to look at it. After about a good 5 minutes of carefully inspecting it, Debra gives it back to the coutnerperson. I can tell by the look on her face that she likes it very much.
Right then and there the counterperson says "Do you want to buy the ring now? Its on sale, we give you good price. Can you pay for it now? We give you better price. How much do you want to spend?" Mind you, she asked me all this with Debra right next to me.
I would have considered buying it if the counterperson wasnt so damn pushy and put me in an awkward situation.
We went to the rest of the stores in the district and really didnt find anything else she wanted (or I could afford).
