I'M GOING TO SEE PENNYWISE IN CONCERT TOMORROW!!!

My friend Natasha says in an IM to me that her friend at KROQ gave her 4 tickets to see them at the HOB in Anaheim! She doesn't need the other 3, so I get one, and the other two...well, that's a surprise. :)

WOOHOO!!!

And anybody who ruins my fun will be severly scorned.

And if you think Pennywise sucks, keep the thought in yer head.

That is all.

What's Pennywise? Does it have do do with a clown? If so, it sucks. Hey, maybe you'll sit beside some lonely chick. You could talk all of that stage stuff and impress her. Then, tell her when you're big in the business you'll look her up for an acting role....as long as she gives you a hand job now. ;)

I think that's where they got their name, but they're a punk band. And a damned good one, imo.

But thanks for the idea, Uncle Pony! :D

Yes, they got the name from the stephen king character "pennywise." I actually like their newer stuff a lot more than their older stuff, which is rare for a punk rock band. I saw them at the troubadour at some secret benefit show and as anyone in LA knows, the troub is the best venue in southern california, it was pretty damn rad. House of blues should be pretty good too, enjoy!

Awesome. Simply awesome.

Missed the opening band, Smut Peddlers, but that's ok. I wasn't really there for them anyway.

They were great.

Memorable things:
Dedication of "**** Authority" to the LAPD
The security guys in front of the stage grabbing people that were hoisted up by the audience and essentially flinging them down onto the floor.
The guy who got hoisted up by the audience and dropped in the middle of the mosh pit.
The guy who wanted really badly for Pennywise to sing "My God." None of them quite remembered how it went, so they pulled the kid up onto the stage and had him sing it with them. That was ****in' awesome.
Meeting the band. They had this thing where you could buy their new CD for $10 and you got a wristband to meet the band after the show. I got them to all autograph the new CD. They're really friendly. They took time to really talk about anything and everything with each person who walked by. And I was ordered to get a Pennywise headband by three of the four band members. "You have the hair for it," I was told. I can do that.

Let's see...what else, what else, what else. . . la la...um...Jim (singer) is awesome. Three songs in a row were audience requests.

Not as much to talk about from this concert as there was from the last one.

OH! Here's a thought I had...in the past 5 days I've seen Dropkick Murphys, The Sex Pistols, and Pennywise. If my ex didn't already hate me, this'd be enough to push her over the edge. *grin*

That's pretty cool zach, I'm sure it was a rad show, they really are a great band that plays for their fans. I actually worked on the video for **** authority and with the exception of byron (who was too busy being extremely stoned), they were all extremely friendly and down to earth, I probably talked to jim for close to an hour and a half about the state of punk, what it means to us, what it was like growing up in the scene he did, etc.

Funny trivia I learned on that set - Randy the basist used to play in the divynals (sp?), you know that "I touch myself" song....
