June 20, 2003 -- IT'S off the hizzle, for shizzle - Joey Buttafuoco's budding acting career is getting a boost from his buddy Snoop Dogg.
Buttafuoco, 47, turns up in the role of an L.A. police captain on Sunday night's premiere of Snoop Dogg's new series "Doggy Fizzle Televizzle" (10 p.m. on MTV).
In the unpublicized appearance, a gray-haired Buttafuoco is seen in a spoofy sketch trying to talk a young would-be suicide off a building ledge. "You don't have to do this!" he shouts dramatically, just before calling for backup.
"Time to bring in the Negrotiator!" he declares, referring to a special police negotiator (Snoop Dogg) who is fluent in the kind of ghetto slang being spoken by the jumper.
"Doggy Fizzle Televizzle," hosted by and starring Snoop Dogg, is a half-hour of comedy and music, with Snoop Dogg himself performing a number in Sunday's premiere. There's also plenty of Snoop Dogg's trademark lingo, including "off the hizzle, for shizzle," which translates to "off the hook, for sure!"
