I guess this isn't one of those really tramatic things, but my wife and I are having a serious disagreement over taking our 5 month old mutt (1/2 Aussie Cattle Dog/ 1/2 Dalmatian) when we visit my sister over Memorial Day weekend.

Don't get me wrong, he's a good little guy, a rambuctious fun loving little puppy. Not really very high maintenance for a dog, especially a young one. Housebreaking took all of two days.

The problem is that he has tons of energy and plays a bit on the rough side. Plus, he's got the Aussie Cattle Dog hardwiring for nipping to get attention...We're breaking him of it, but it ain't done yet. (How else does a 45 pound dog get the attention of an 800 lb. cow? Yep, it's bred into them.) And, my sister's kids are three and six months.

I'm thinking we either kennel him or not go. The odds of something happening are probably one in a million, but that's still one chance too many for me. If the kids were, say, 10 and 7, I wouldn't be worried at all, either. But, these are little ones.

Since I lose on most things we'll probably bring him. But, I'd rather not.
