Yes thats right. Woman in a (98?) Ford Explorer as best I can tell. Why do I not know for sure? Because the bitch fled! Yep. Here are the details: Friday, 5:20 pm, rush hour traffic, near dusk. I am approaching a light, and the light goes yellow about 70 feet in front of me. I am doing 50 in a 50, but that really isn't enough room to stop. Enter stupid ass soccer mom. This woman is preparing to turn left against me. Seeing the light is going to go red she pulls up and is preparing to make the left turn at the last second, meanwhile, I am approaching the light. I watch her carefully and cannot believe she is going to actually try and turn. She's looking to her right for traffic because she knows shes just about to run a red light, and sure enough she starts to make her move. I pop the 5spd into 3rd gear and romp it hard, pulling to the right, since if I am too slow then I am bound to hit her face on. I somehow manage not to take out the stoplight pole, and her chrome bumber skims my back quarter, ripping off the molding, and doing some rather nice damage, 1000 bucks at least. I never braked because that would have killed me. I slow down, and see that the !@*$!$*% drive off! I can't pursue since I have to turn around. I proceed to the next parking lot, and turn around left across four lanes of traffic to pursue, but she was long gone, probably almost back to the trailer park by the time I arrived. I sure hope she didn't miss any TV.

I'm lucky, and as much money as I have in this fast, unlucky car, its still just a car. If I had been a bit off my game I would not be here right now. Mustang head on with an SUV at 50 plus = 1 very dead Mustang driver, and a SHITLOAD of aftermarket parts for all rednecks, and future generations of rednecks at the junkyard, to enjoy. I hope this stupid bitch sleeps better knowing that my quick reflexes spared her precious grocery getter, and, most likely her completely insignificant life. No license plate, no witnesses's that stuck around, so I didn't even bother with the cops. Drove around the area fror awhile but never found her. The damage sux, but it is repairable. Most importantly, I am not dead. I have a child due in 8 months. The fact that I came inches away from not seeing that child is seriously distressing, but I am happy at the same time. Thanks for letting me go off. I'll post a pic of the damage if I can get it to work. .

No heres the real shocker: This is the third time I have been hit in the EXACT same spot. First time 1995, the DAY the car came back form the paint shop! 2nd time, 5 years later to the exact day!!!!!!Almost a later, same shit. I am really getting tired of this crap. Its like somebody painted a bullseye on my rear quarter panel that only certain people can see. What are the chances of this happening 3 times in the same place? I have never wrecked this car. Each time it was hit, it was by a woman. 1st my own mother (and how can you be mad your own mom?), 2nd by a 22 year old college sorority slut in a 2000 Camaro SS (hows that for ironic? Luckily, it did more damage to that ugly plastic Chevy than to the stang), and now this woman.

Sorry for the foul language, normally not my style. I know all this sounds a bit unforgiving, but I am a little pissed right now. People make mistakes, I've made my share, but this lady nearly cost me my life. I can't help but think right now, in my biased, completely illogical state of mind, that the Taliban weren't on to something when they forbade women from driving.

Damn, that really sucks man...I am just so happy you're okay. As you said that IS what is most important...

Still so sorry...

Thanks Manu. Don't really hate the lady, just pissed off, but glad I am alive. You can't imagine how close I really came to dying. One of those times that good driving, good handling, and quick steering really paid off.

Was she hot? I love soccer moms.

That sucks about the soccer mom and I am glad you are safe.

Soccer mom's can be quite a hazard and can become intoxicated with the power of a large truck and try to intimidate others. Last night, I was driving in a supermarket parking lot that is informally designed to be one way in certain areas so all the cars and SUV's  can park at the same angle. Anyhow a Land Rover with no lights on is coming the wrong way slowly, but directly head on. I stop and hold my ground knowing that the Autpower 6 point roll cage, welded in subframe connectors and 4 point harness should protect me pretty well. (Plus the 1986 Fox bodies have pretty heavy duty front and rear bumbers). She swerves to avoid me as I honk the horn. This evildoer has the cockiness to wave me on. I pulled safely into a spot and jumped out of the car to watch the evildoer. Her next move was to finally turn on her headlights and pull onto the Post Road right in front of another SUV. That guy gave her a good honking also.

Later that night a youngster was yelling from the passenger of some sedan, "Hey cool car." So there are some decent people in and amongst the evildoers in America. ;)

That sucks, I wish all bad drivers in SUVs to flip and burn. Poetic justice, dammit.

You should hunt her down and smack her

I agree completely with Chaotic & Fordman both here... Too bad it's not likely you'll ever find the hag

I was sitting at a light in Houston and this woman in front of me pulls herNissan Exterra out to turn right on the red light, well, then she decides there isn't enough room, so she proceeds to back up over the front of my car!!! I can't back up because there is a car behind me. Well she hits me, so I get out and look at the hood, not to bad, just a lil scrape, so I walk up to her car and THE BITCH DRIVES OFF!!! All I could do was get one good kick to the quarter panel. SUVs suck!!

YOU had no excuse not to get a license plate in all that time:)

That royally sucks though. I hope you dented the hell outta that quarter panel:)

When it comes to accidents, Stalin was absolutely right; "Trust no one, not even yourself". Well I still hope you caved in her quarter panel real good:)

Always drive with a gun. Good for fun, road rage, or blowing out tires on bitches who try to drive off.

My 86 GT has been through hell and back. Owned it for 9 years, and it has been attacked repeatedly by idiots, most recently the SUV bitch, and the shopping cart from hell. I have never wrecked it, but I can't seem to keep it out of trouble. After I get it repainted (again) its going in the garage. My daily car, an 85 Mustang GT Vert, was hijacked by a couple of little 17 year old bastards, and rolled into a creek bed. Still haven't repaired the damage, and wouldn't you know, I had just switched to liability a month before. A gun isn't a bad idea and there is only so much of this crap a law abiding citizen can take. Fortuately, I am alive, as is my car. A few inches more, and I would have been one dead mofo. SUV's do suck. If I ever hit one directly I will be extremely dead.

86,
I'm a mustang man myself (dark green 92 LX 5.0 5-speed notchback). Dude, did you ever stop to think that maybe the lady didn't even know she hit you? Maybe she thought it was a bump in the road or something...

Seriously, though, I'm glad you're okay. People like that really piss me off. It's one thing that she hit you. It's quite another to ignore her responsiblity in the matter. That simply isn't excusable. I'm pretty sure that what she did is a felony (leaving the scene of an accident).

She probably drives the same route everyday at about the same time. Why not wait in a nearby parking lot and wait for her to drive by? Then take down her license plate number or something.

Damned good idea actually SG. Should have thought of that myself:D If it caved in his whole quarter panel though, I seriously doubt she didn't realize what she did, and yeah hit & run is a felony in just about every state as far as I know.

No, she knew, because she stopped, looked back at me, then hauled ass. I actually staked the stoplight out at the same time last Thursday and Friday, but no luck. I canvassed the neighborhood but nothing. At this point I don't much for revenge, just tired of people hitting me.

I was joking about the idea that she might not realize that she hit you.

Good luck, man.
