View Full Version : Super Bowl Predictions
freedom 12-28-2001, 10:39 AM Right now it is looking like St. Louis VS. Pittsburg.
It does not seem like anyone will be able to stop the SL offensive juggernaut. My SB prediction SL and they will cover any spread.
slayr420 12-28-2001, 12:23 PM Philadelphia Vs. Montana State
Scott 12-28-2001, 05:03 PM stop the SL juggernaught!?...
PLEASE...!!
pittsburgh (note the "H"at the end of it :p)has the best defence in the league...
it's gonna be a good game...

Did you see the offensive performance of SL yesterday or at least the highlights. If that wasn't an offensive juggernaght I don't know what one is. SL's offense is sick and seemingly unstopable. The accuracy of Kurt Warner and the efficiency of the wide reciever core is reminiscent of Marino when he was throwing to Duper and Clayton.
Contraband 12-31-2001, 06:19 PM Knowing absolutely nothing about pro football, i am going to have to go with an all Cali superbowl. Niners-Raiders. Go Chargers!

Yes..but they haven't played the steelers yet...
can kurt warner do so well against the 3-4 defence....??
can he hit with accuracy when joey porter...or earl holems shoves their helmet up his ass with a sack? :D

SL's offensive line does not give up a lot of sacks and the are excellent run blockers. Faulk has Jim Brown type numbers over the last 4 years and is arguably the best back to ever play the game. I am no big SL fan, just a sports fan. This team is awesome. The Steelers are playing great but didn't they just get beat by Cinci. Oh my god, that is not supposed to happen period!!
Their defense is awesome but SL can not be stopped offensively and the Steelers offense does not appear to be capable of putting enough points on the board. Now after seeing what happened to the Steelers I am thinking that they could get upset in the playoffs and not even make it to the SB. No one in the NFC will get by SL. That is my stone cold lock.

The Steeler's had Bettus and several on thier key players on the sideline. Besides, the Bengals are allowed to get lucky every now and then. BTW, have you payed any attention to the Bengals defense lately? One of the best in the league. It's the offense that has been stinking up the field...
BTW, the fish are goin' all the way!!!!

You know I wouldn't mind seeing the fish luck their way into the Super Bowl just to get rolled by SL.
SL = Speed. Did you check out any of the college bowl games? Speed dominates and it is no different in the NFL. You can be as physical as you want to be but you can't hit what you can't catch. You put 8 men in the secondary and you still can't stop Warner because that offensive line can block 3 rushers for like 45 minutes.

Agreed, it's just been a long dry spell for us fish fans. Gotta hold out some hope!!!!
Foul Temptress 01-04-2002, 02:31 PM Man, I was really hoping the SAINTS would have made it :D
Oh well at least they are hosting the bowl!
Scott 01-07-2002, 01:12 AM STEELERS!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOO!

BAH!....
indoor arenas are for pussies ;)
did you see the shit that the steelers played in today?!?
they love that shit! :)
James 01-07-2002, 07:32 PM I'd put my money on St. Louis ... but I'll pick Green Bay as the sleeper (provided they get past the Niners in the first round). Why? Cause I have to!
If the defense wasn't devasted by injuries, I'd say it's a completely legit pick.
BTW ... is it just me, or does anyone else think that Bill Cowher looks like Popeye, when he's pacing the sidelines?
A second BTW ... any opinion on Farve gift-wrapping the NFL sack record for Michael Strahan?
Scott 01-07-2002, 08:38 PM he has a pronounced chin that is for sure...
he's defenately a dude i wouldn't want to piss off ;)
James 01-07-2002, 09:04 PM That's for sure. He looks like he'd simply pull off your head and toss it outta the way.
btw ... how is it that you became a Steelers' fan? Are you originally from PA?
Scott 01-08-2002, 01:18 AM My whole family is.....
my mom, aunt...grandma...all my relatives on my mom's side..
i've been a steelers fan since i liked football...around 6 or 7 years of age...
i've been through the good times and the bad times with them...
i have earned the right to be called die hard :);)
James 01-08-2002, 04:15 AM That's cool. I respect anyone who stands by their team, win or lose. Okay ... so a Green Bay - Pittsburgh Super Bowl.
I've been a Packer fan forever. The first games I actually remember would be back in the 1962 season. Damn ... that's 40 years! I gotta get some sleep. :)
DaOgre 01-08-2002, 02:19 PM Scott used to get mad at me when the Jags would whoop the steelers, and hed tell me I wasnt allowed to be a Jacksonville fan... I thought that was really funny...
Speaking of which they would have done well this year if half their team hadnt spent the year on IR... with most of their offensive line plus Taylor out all year... and then their defense dropping like flies... Im surprised they finished as "well" as they did
Anyways I want the all Pirates superbowl...
Raiders and Bucs baby!
Im just pulling for the steelers to loose at this point :)
DaOgre 01-08-2002, 02:27 PM Heres who I WANT to win
Raiders to Rally and beat the Jets
Buccs over Eagles
Ravens over Miami
Green bay over 9ers
Baltimore over Pittsburgh
Oakland over Patriots
Buccs over St. Louis (they did it once)
Bears over Green Bay
then
Oakland over Baltimore
Bucs over Bears
THE PIRATE BOWL!!!!
hey shut up it could happen
Samurai Jack 01-08-2002, 03:11 PM All I have to say is GO RAIDERS

Now that stings! I'd rather be buried in a Cowboy's jersey, than be caught wearing one of those damn foam cheese hats!
But gentlemen .... let me remind you, it's the Vince Lombardi Trophy. For that reason, the Pack should be in the Super Bowl at least every other year.
But if that's not to be, I'd rather they lose to the Niner's ... or Tampa Bay ... or the 7th grade team from Our Lady of the Bloody Heart, than to the evil Chicago Bears.
Hell, we already beat those bums twice this year!
Scott 01-09-2002, 02:40 AM i'd like to see a GB vs Steelers Super Bowl...
Baltimore over the Steelers....HAH...right..
that won't happen again...
no such luck nathan..(you ass!)

I could go for that. Although me and the lady across the street with Steelers flag hanging in her window might get in a fight ... and she'd kick my butt!! She's HUGE! And a really nice person, actually. :)
Corporate Avenger 01-09-2002, 12:43 PM STEELERS!!!

Well CA ... if I told you Dubya is a die-hard, closet Steelers fan, would it make a difference?
Corporate Avenger 01-10-2002, 02:12 PM Um well that would kinda spoil it for me.. But screw that mf'er, the're MY team!!
DaOgre 01-15-2002, 01:53 PM More of Daogres hopes!
Philly Crushes the bears (there you guys happy?)
Oakland rocks The Pats
Baltimore beats the steelers like a red-headed stepchild
Greenbay dominates over St. Louis in a close fought game!
Achem... we move on
Oakland and Baltimore play and Oakland gives a healthy helping of whoopass and crushes the Ravens... pirate style.
Then Greenbay squares off with the eagles and the forces of good prevail! (ok? happy? stop bitching)
And then in the Superbowl Green Bay crumples under the piraty might of the Raiders!
Scott 01-15-2002, 02:15 PM BULL SHIT!...
the ravens can't play themselves out of a paper bag...

Heh... funny...they were one of the teams that already beat you once :)
slayr420 01-15-2002, 08:16 PM Your predictions suck. First the Eagles were supposed to lose to the G-D Bucs, and now they're supposed to go to the NFC Championship? Make up your mind, if somebody's supposed to be out of the playoffs, don't bother moving them to the 2nd to last game. The Swami sez it'll be Philly vs. Pitt, and I think he's right. As for the speed discussion, a lot of Philly's defense is starting at the pro bowl, actually, almost half will be the starting defense, and you put them up against Warner and the Rams, and Philly will fix that OT boo-boo from week one. Philly will dominate the rest of the playoffs, but the superbowl vs the Steelers will be interesting to see, a running offense vs a passing defense, and a west coast offense vs a run defense.
James 01-15-2002, 09:48 PM Right now I'm pulling for an earthquake to strike St. Louis .... doing severe damage to that sorry dome they pass off as a football stadium (but injuring no one) ... forcing the league to move the game to Green Bay.
If Philly whomps the Bears, it would be a beautiful thing. Although the very thought of a Packer-Bear NFC Championship Game, makes me want to grab a football and go roll around in the mud.
This entire area (Wisconsin-Illinois border) would become a second theater of war.
Just remember ... no pretzels at game time.

I never said that they were predictions... if you go look at the first things I said... those are my hopes... thats how I WANT the games to play out... so pull the stick out of your ass and watch football and quit whining...
freedom 01-16-2002, 04:44 PM SPORTS!!! That is what is being discussed here. People can like who they want and hope this team wins or predict this or that but there is no need to attack or flame here. Please!! These are games that rich men play and we watch.
CHILL!!
DaOgre 01-16-2002, 07:13 PM Preach on Mr. Freedom! heh... god I love this forum
James 01-17-2002, 01:10 AM At least we're not a bad as say, English soccer fans ... where entire townships rise up and pummel each other. One thing I think is cool about international soccer fans: a half hour can go by without a single scoring chance, and yet the stadium is filled with non-stop noise ... singing, chanting, bells and whistles ... just a continuous buzz. I'd like to sit in the stands one time, just to experience it.
slayr420 01-17-2002, 04:55 AM DaOrgy, I never said your predictions sucked, I said everybody's predictions sucked. So grab a spoon and eat a steamy turd.
92Notch 01-17-2002, 02:59 PM so, you do not think the Ravens have a chance?
James 01-19-2002, 06:03 PM Halftime ...
Eagles 13 Bears & Officiating Crew 7
Get 'em Eagles!!
James 01-19-2002, 11:42 PM The Raiders were screwed! What kind of rule is that?? How long was Woodson supposed to wait, before knocking the ball outta Brady's hand? Or would it NEVER be considered a fumble?
Corporate Avenger 01-20-2002, 03:39 PM Steelers
slayr420 01-21-2002, 03:40 PM Officiating: I guess everybody will start running down the field pump faking so there's no way to legally hit them.
freedom 01-28-2002, 04:16 PM Well I was 1/2 right. Rams in but Steelers fell short. Two words. Special Teams. I guess that was the X Factor. I forgot about how shity the Steelers Special Teams were. Other than two Special Teams plays, Steelers probably win that game. Kordel is a choke artist I'm afraid.
yeah i think the blocke dfield goal relaly won the patriots the game though i didn't see the last 2 minutes so i don't know the score
