yea, besides, you can get madass skrapes from snow. but i'd still try it. an old friend of mine once told me it's really REALLY friggin' expensive to do it, though, like equipment wise. true?

Its no more expensive than skiing. Its expensive as hell to do any of that stuff for people like me who live forever away from a mountain. I have to say the most I ever hurt after a fall was snowboarding. It REALLY hurts to be whipped backwards as the board slides out from under you turning your neck into a nice lttle whip that cracks your head into the ground!! OUCH!!

i won't even begin to imagine that. but see i like to skate too, and he said that it's pretty easy to snowboard if you know how to skate already. is that true? i would think snowboarding is easier considering it's ALWAYS under you, as compared to a skateboard, where it hurts like crap when it slips out from under and you fall on your ass or your parietal/ occipital bones.

Yeah but believe me, there are times when you want that board to come off. It is similar to skating but there are differences. Its really not that hard to do. I have skated, but was never a big skater. Not that I was doing ariels and stuff, but I had a lot of fun without a big learning curve, Just kinda hopped on and went. Its a blast and you should definitely try it if you get a chance. Like I said, you can rent a snowboard for about what a set of skiis would cost to rent, so its really not too bad. Definitely worth it.

my enitre rental was $26 including damage insurance. i had badass flow bindings and a pretty decent board. definately cheaper than i thought it would be.

Ld-skating,snowboarding and surfing can all go hand in hand because if you can do any of those three that means you have the balance thing down, just each situation is different because the elements vary so much.concrete doesnt move, water moves, and snow is snow!
its still hard even if youre a great skater cause anything is challenging the first time, just be persistant.
and its is costy but you can rent boards and boots from surf/board shops for pretty cheap.also my brother went snowboarding recently(i think to mtn.high)and he only went half day($40 ticket) and then sold his ticket for $20 before he left,so really it was only $20 to snowboard half day.not too shabby!

I ski but have never tried snow boarding. It looks to me like you spend the majority of the time on your ass in the snow instead of up on your board. It definitely seems hard to learn.

hehehe, well skateboarding is a whole new story, but i'm really considering going snowboarding before the snow season ends. skiing seems too.... i dunno, graceful. i see skiing the way allegra sees snowboarding.

and bear moutain has a good beginner's package..i think snow summit does as well
