View Full Version : Do you ever play games 'together'?
Last summer I played Grim Fandango again (one of my alltime favourites) but my girl played with me. Since it's an adventure type of game, you have to go find stuff and do things in a certain order. I played it twice before so i remembered a lot of stuff. It was fun though to sit there together and figure out what to do.
Does any of you ever play a game together with someone? And i'm not talking about multiplayer or networking
Wedge 12-20-2001, 11:05 AM actually as a matter of fact.. yes I do..
last saturday a friend of mine came over and played video games with me.. my neighbor's friend's sister.. yeah I don't know how I got to know her, but it was cool, we played mario kart 64 and some perfect dark.. I have never been beat so bad in mario kart in my whole life.. it was pathetic.. :) then we watched the 6th sense and some chick flick which I feel asleep.. but overall it wasn't a bad saturday..
Guitarophile 12-20-2001, 12:21 PM Back in the day, I used to play those LucasArts adventure games with my best friend. We'd switch off when we got bored.
But as far as gaming with girls, it's hard to find one that's into it. My ex-girlfriend got into Counter-strike in college, like a year after we broke up. When we became friends again, it's was great to have something in common like that.
Xochitl and I have switched off in Unreal Tournament, and that was pretty sexy. A chick that liked to shoot people. Oh yeah. Since then, I've met a few more gaming girls. It's really a treat to see ladies that find violent interaction with a virtual world to be entertaining. Most just think it's "gross".
Heh, I used to multiplay with my girl on Quake and Q2 but it was humiliating how easily she would die. It would be a level with just her and me, and 20 to 0 deathcounts. I wasnt even trying most of the time, somehow she would just end up right in front of my rocketlauncher
Wedge, how old is this girl? Sounds like you're having a lil too much fun with that 8 year old (?) :D

haha.. no she is 18... she is the one that is pregnant way over there in the other forum.. :)
it was kinda depressing when we were playing perfect dark and I went to load my player, named mustang.. and the other player that was in there was "ILuvStang".. yeah it was stacy's old character that we use to sit and play for hours.. she got quite good at it at the end.. well she never really liked my laptop gun.. :)
yeah i read about that.. sad story. I hope it ends up right and that its not another Jerry Springer guest in the making.
Wedge 12-20-2001, 01:36 PM yeah she is a sweet girl, and she doesn't desirve what life has delt her.. I told her that she does have head on straight and she will make it, but sometimes she gets down on herself, which isn't right..
anyways, she can kick some major butt in mario kart like I said..
my neighbor and I use to switch off on Gran Turismo 2.. those damn endurance races take forever to beat.. :) just to get back on subject
Scott 12-20-2001, 03:48 PM i played through all of Secret of Mana with a buddy of mine once...
that was fun :)
DaOgre 12-20-2001, 05:36 PM Well Scott and I played an ambiguously gay game together... its a game where your a sweaty man and you do your best to grab other guys behind in the patented "Ab stretch" where you bend them over and stretch their hips... by thrusting your hips into them...
yeah...
Scott 12-20-2001, 07:16 PM how bout the game where i fart in your face?...
we can do that again if you want:p
Wedge 12-21-2001, 08:59 AM does strip poker count?? :)
I just love "russian oven" when you fart and hold the person under the covers to make them smell it.. that's some good stuff.. :D:D
Brian 12-21-2001, 09:39 AM Back when we were to poor to do anything else, wife and I would play Madden '92 on the Genesis. Of course we'd also take turns at Sonic the Hedgehog...
Wedge 12-21-2001, 09:42 AM mario party is fun to play together.. then there were the games of monopoly and tetris on regular nintendo in kaley's room at midnight on friday nights.. yeah that's some good stuff...
"that's some good stuff" is my new phrase.. :)
Brian 12-21-2001, 10:45 AM Bomberman on the Saturn is an awsome multi-player game as well...

yeah but all the girls I play with suck.. except that girl in mario kart.. and I always have to put the handicap way high..
but then it just shows how much guys are better than girls..
... yes yet another thread of this.. :)
Rayney 08-10-2002, 01:39 PM When ever we try to play games together my partner gets very stressed out at how bad I am...and even when he tries to let me win it fails. Im better at violent, shooting games than racing car ones.....
turtle_o 08-10-2002, 01:51 PM pat and i played some curse of the monkey island a few months back. :)
and OH, wow, i just HAVE to watch when he plays Shenmue, thats like a little movie.
Deninla 08-10-2002, 03:01 PM Greg and I play Everquest together. He bought a second computer just so we could. We've also played Ages of Empires together. My computer is too slow to play other games like Empire Earth or Red Alert 2.

Actually, after we got married almost 6 years ago, we discovered myy wife had a latent talent and taste for RPG games, especially (sicne we had and still have my old Super Nintendo) the older ones like Lufia I and II, Final Fantasy II, III, etc. We played them the same way you described, Tam. Some I'd played before, some not. Oddly enough we both have together re-played Super Mario RPG- one of the silliest but most entertaining.
We were doing the later Final Fantasy Games- 7 and 8 together on the PC. Then Square stopped porting them after that so 9 and 10 are something we'd like to but haven't yet.
Of the FF series, I think I like the story of 7 best.
