BIG GABE 04-01-2003, 04:51 PM good List. I love many of the same things as you do.
^ Gracias. :) And it's good to see you here... you're not around much these days!
BIG GABE 04-02-2003, 03:58 PM I'd usually come to post poetry, but I havent been writing as of late. Actually i've invested so much time in guitar it takes away from my writing. Thats why I havent been around.
I also noticed "playing pool" You are talking to a certified pool hall junkie here. Before you went north we shoulda racked em up. Of course if I went to Beverly Hills, people would think I was your servent. There to chalk your stick and rack after each game for a nickel an hour!
Yeah, I love pool! A few years ago, I had a part-time job at a billiards place, when I was living in SF. It was fun, cause we got to play a lot of pool, of course. :)
Oh, and when I lived in LA I didn't go out much in Beverly Hills. If I did go out, it was to Sunset or Hollywood. But it wouldn't have been like that, come on! ;)
RightWingZealot 04-03-2003, 09:03 AM yeah dude, it wouldant have been like that at all.
She knows Iwoulda carried her pool stick and rack for 2 cents an hour!
Rugen 04-03-2003, 09:12 AM Buttercup
Why not say simply:"I love buttercup" in stead of all the things you love.
I love them too.
The one thing I love most is a date with you in the winter and on skates:D
:D a date in the winter on skates? :D
where've you been Rugen? I miss you!

Sorry about my delay.
I was held up by Renee.
I tried to teach her to play "Roll over Beethoven" in a coalmine, but she could not get the do,re,mi of shaft sinkers in sequence.:p
She said she is a W-annabe N-ihilist.
i'm adding to the list
Jennifer Knapp (http://www.jenniferknapp.net/)
just about all her songs are good, especially trinity, peace, his grace is sufficient, refine me, all consuming fire, etc...
she rocks. :)
RightWingZealot 06-21-2003, 09:09 PM she's too preachy for me.
I am getting into Switchfoot though. Those guys write smart songs.
I heard a couple tracks off thier new CD that were really awsome.
I don't think she's preachy... I mean, she is a Christian artist that isn't afraid to sing about faith and God... is that what you consider preachy? I think her songs are beautiful and that anyone (even non-Christians) can appreciate her music, cause she's just really good. :)
and yeah, switchfoot rocks... i love their new cd.
RightWingZealot 06-21-2003, 09:41 PM I mean, she is a Christian artist that isn't afraid to sing about faith and God... is that what you consider preachy?
Yeah, I have never been into blatant christian music, where it is basicly just praise songs.
Unless I am at church obviously..
When I listen to music I like to hear introspective music.
I dont dig overtly christian, overtly political (even if I agree with the politics), or overtly anything really..
I dig lyrics that let ya sorta see the world thru the eyes of the writer.
I think christians can do this.. I listen to some christian artists I consider more introspectinve then preachy.. Beki is like that, as is the band The Choir.. Did you ever listen to them?
I sent them along with the other CD's I gave you I think.
I dont think you ever listened to any of those CD.
:(
Steve Taylor is also an awsome christian musican.. although now that I think of it his music is kinda preachy from time to time.. but it's in a sarcastic sorta way so that makes it funny. ;)
I guess people listen to music for different reasons.
Some folks listen to blow off steam, some listen as a way to feel closer to God, and some folks listen to hear the story.
I listen for the story I guess.
I think a lot of her songs are introspective and personal, but yeah, they also are openly christian, for the most part.
I did listen to most of those cd's....To be honest, some of the stuff wasn't my cup of tea... but I liked a few of them. I'll have to listen again, sometimes it takes a few times and songs grow on you, ya know? :)
I liked that song 'it's you it's me' that you told me about. who sings that again?
RightWingZealot 06-22-2003, 10:16 AM Yeah, I figured some of the stuff you wouldnt like. I didnt know your musical tastes then so I just sent you a broad range of stuff that I had which was done by christians.
It's you It's me is by ken Andrews.. that guy I worship.. the guy who was in my avatar before the little chinchilla you see before you now.
I am sure you have heard me spout off about this guy a bazillion times.
Im gonna go see his band year of the rabbit again in august.
WOOHOO!!
maybe this time he will spit on me and I will absorb some of his talent!
you have changed my mind about contemporary christian music cindy.
i used to think it was all garbage. caveman call ( or calls) on the radio rocks. another artist - dunno who "there is no comparison to the greatness of knowing you are loved." wow - pull over and listen.
non-classic instrumental w/ classic lyrics - i hear it often. sometimes it works, sometimes it sounds awkward. amy grant does it - dances between and/or uses opposite styles.
Yay, I'm glad to hear that! There is definitely some great music... but like with secular music, there's good and bad. Overall I like it better though, cause it's positive and uplifting (not to sound cheesy, but... its true) :)
cheesy is good sometimes. :)
The Frog 11-24-2003, 01:16 PM Mmmm.... cheese.
Suddenly have an urge for a nice slice of Stilton.

Skating with you is the same as skating on thin ice:D
Ice caves in and I am in the hot seat with the devil.
I have been around;)
lol... I love your way with words. (that should be added to the list) :D I hope you stay around Rugen! We missed you.
