My Barmitzfa party was star trek themed
I have not missed any enterprise episodes

(I would put more but i have to go)
i also know a shit load of technical stuff and trivia....
BEAT THAT!!!
:p
I shall ask you questions three...those with the most correct answer wins...
What does Cpt. Picard wear underneath that uniform?
How many women does Cpt. Kirk 'get with' during the course of the original series?
What is the episode number from TNG where the crew drastically underestimates their foe, faces near death, escape in the end with their safetey, and then ends with a message from the captain?
Scott 12-13-2001, 08:21 PM if you are implying that captian picard is scottish...you are mistaken...
as in...he wears "nothing"
star fleet personnel usually wear a fitted T-shirt under their uniform..
the uniforms on the show changed early in the second season...to either single pieced jumpsuits...or like the captian wears, pants and a shirt (that he constantly pulls down as to look his best)
in a few episodes he can be seen in a strange grey shirt..and a maroon jacket....signifying his duty in command.
and of course one cannot forget the episode "tapestry" where he wears first a cadet uniform not-unlike The Orig. Series' uniforms, and then he is seen as wearing a science officers color of blue, in a alternate reality.
Surely, he also seen in his "dress" uniform when he is required to look his best....
and then there was when he was Locutus of Borg...
....more to come....
Brian 12-13-2001, 09:47 PM Oh, please....
I HYPOTHOSIZE THAT YOU ARE NOT HALF THE TREKKER I AM!...
REASONS:
I have been to 3 star trek conventions
Congrats... I've never had the oportunity. Seeing as how I was married w/kids at 19, my money has gone elsewhere. Besides, from what I've seen on the net, the people who go to these redfine the word strange.
I know all the star's Real names, all series
Join the club...
I have dressed up as a star trek dude for halloween many times
With ya...
My Barmitzfa party was star trek themed
Can't compete with that, not Jewish. Though my 14th & 15th b-day was themed ST. And while on the honeymoon, I didn't miss ST. Best of Both Worlds was on...
I have not missed any enterprise episodes
I am getting Dish Network installed Saturday for this show. A friend has been burning VCD's for me so I can keep up...
I have not missed any voyager episodes (i shit you not)
Getting VCD's from mid 4th season on. Local FOX affiliate stopped showing them (4th season) and DS9 (6th season).
I have seen every star trek movie more than 5 times...with the
exception of insurrection....(i've seen 1,2,4,and 6 more than 15 times each)
That's it? You got some catching up to do.... :p
I have 6-7 life sized cardboard cuttouts of cast memebers rangeing from data to troi
I have a life....
I have an insurrection movie poster in my room(i used to have many others but i took them all down)
Got this and First Contact and Undiscovered Country
I have a picture of me super-imposed in a star fleet uniform with star trek characters.
See the above life comment
I have all TNG action figgures.
I have a tricorder

Used to have the characters. Got lost courtesy of the Navy in my last change of duty station. Have a phaser.
I have a model of the enterprise d that makes sounds
Have this and an Erector Set of 'D'
I have many star trek light-up ornaments rangeing from voyager, to the borg cube, to Terak-nor (DS9)

My Yahoo addy is: SoverignClass_Enterprise
i also know a shit load of technical stuff and trivia....

Dude Scott...he's so winning. You're outta your league man...Brian is winning.
(and FYI, no I meant what kinda underwear he wears you goof)
Scott 12-14-2001, 02:50 AM well...
Soverign class is prob a bit stronger than galaxcy...i guess because of newer technology....
But i would have to say the defiant...
ablative armor
quantam torpedos
cloaking device...
it would be hard to beat...
though..there is only one Defiant...
I would have to say...BofB worlds part one and two were prob my favorite episodes
Scott 12-14-2001, 02:51 AM oh..and the comment that i don't have a life...

Was a joke Scott, no harm intended!!! :D
Brian 12-14-2001, 08:12 AM And there was only one Defiant class mentioned. In the Trek world, there are more.

The Soverign class is a good bit stronger than the Galaxy. Quantum Torpedos, more phaser banks and NO CIVILIANS!!!
It is a close call with the Defiant, though. While she has fewer torpedo bays, her phasers are MUCH more powerful due to her overpowered warp core. Defensively, she can take one heluva beating also.
I have never seen an original episode of ST and have only seen a few movies... so there :p
CGord 12-15-2001, 12:07 AM NERRRRRRRDS!!!!!!!!!
hair-pie!!!!
jwreck 12-17-2001, 12:33 AM My only question is, how come in all their travels through space, they never go to Ork? Mork would kick some Federation ass!! Plus, Mindy is hotter than any chick Cpt Kirk did.:D
Scott 12-17-2001, 02:39 PM i dunno....i belive i won this challenge..unless you have more trivia i take the nerd cup :):D

Umm, no, I think brian met all of your challeneges with equal gusto...and in fac seems more versed than you do...
Given your performance in the movie quotes thread I'd need to give the nod to Brian.
Brian 12-17-2001, 03:30 PM Scott, keep dreaming, you want it, you got it: (no cheating)
What was the insult Kirk yelled back at the cabbie in ST:IV?
What aircraft carrier did Uhura and Checkov beam onto and what was thier mission (ST:IV)?
What was the names of the whales they beamed aboard the Bird of Prey? (ST:IV)
What di dthey rename the Bird of Prey? (ST:IV)
What is the significance of the Kobyashi Maru in ST:II?
Name the two actresses who portrayed Lt. Savvik.
What part did Iman play in ST:VI?
In First Contact, what song did Zephram Cochran play when the 'Pheonix' is being launched?
What other vessel did Sulu fly in ST:IV?
What planets moon blew up at the beginning of ST:VI?
In ST:III, how did McCoy react to the news that he had Spock's katra?
DaOgre 12-17-2001, 03:34 PM Personally I think Scott is winning... did Brian answer your questions Manu?
bum bum bummmmm
Brian 12-17-2001, 03:35 PM Where are your answers to these I posted in the Movie Quotes thread?
"You really have gone where no man has gone before..."
"Let me guess, in the future they don't use money..."
"How's the patient?"
"He's gonna be fine"
"But you went in with a woman?"
"One little mistake..."
"Maybe he's singing at that man?.."
"Perhaps, 'beacuse it is there' is not sufficient reason..."
"I'm hardly in a position to debate you on that."

I belive Kirk was running close to one per show.
Well, TNG crew were always in danger of being destroyed by either an enemy, stellar core fragment or thier own lack of knowledge of the universe. I'd have to say every episode...
(And yes, I realize this was a joke) :D :D :D

Or even Melmack. It would have been neat running across Alf....
86Dude 12-17-2001, 04:44 PM I betcha in the right light your retainer looks like a Klingon warship.
Scott 12-17-2001, 05:50 PM What was the insult Kirk yelled back at the cabbie in ST:IV?
well....A double dumb ass on you!
What aircraft carrier did Uhura and Checkov beam onto and what was thier mission (ST:IV)?
The enterprise...to collect neuclear photons.. the bird of prey's dilitium crystals were draned from the time warp...and that would re-crystalize them
What was the names of the whales they beamed aboard the Bird of Prey? (ST:IV)
George and Gracie....From the Cetacian institute....humpback whales....
What di dthey rename the Bird of Prey? (ST:IV)
The Mutineer's Bounty...or the Mutiny's Bounty....
What is the significance of the Kobyashi Maru in ST:II?
It's a un-winable situation...it's a test of character.....But Kirk won once...because he re-programed it so he could win :)...
Name the two actresses who portrayed Lt. Savvik.
OOh....you half got me....Kirsy Alley (of Cheers, and Look who's talking fame) played it in ST II...but the name of the other actress exscapes me
What part did Iman play in ST:VI?
Iman..who is that?..an actors name or a character name?
In First Contact, what song did Zephram Cochran play when the 'Pheonix' is being launched?
Bummer..ok..i admit it...you got me here too..just because i haven't seen it too much...i know He's Into Rock-a-billy type music..it's what he plays for the vulcans
What other vessel did Sulu fly in ST:IV?
A helicopter....to load the walls for the tank for the whales they were gonna get....he claims to have flown something like a Tubman 601....
What planets moon blew up at the beginning of ST:VI?
Praxis....Q'onos's moon....followed by a huge ass shockwave..then a distress call..and then a warning to all to keep out of the neutral zone...and that they were fine...Yah right :)
In ST:III, how did McCoy react to the news that he had Spock's katra?
well..he wasn't himself that's for sure....he was thought to be crazy. He was mixing in his normal expressions "That cunning little green blooded vulcan......ect, ect" with "Facinating....ect ect ect"

First one- Bones to Spock after he comes back from being dead
Second one- Scientist (Kate?)(whale lady) eating pizza with kirk and talking about the whales in ST: 4 when the bill comes
Third One- Kirk, Bones, and the Scientist go get Chekov from the hospital...but checov is garded by the police because of his shenanigans on the "Enterprise" the aircraft carrier...They go in with the female scientist on the gurney (suffering from "gass" :)...) and come out with checkov....the guard notices :) haha
for some reason...the fourth looks like something Chekov said

The fact that they actually played it out on the Genesis planet while Khan was listening in. Again, Kirk changed the rules...

Kirstie Alley (ST:II) and Robin Curtiss (ST:III and IV)

Iman..who is that?..an actors name or a character name?
She played the Changling, Marta, who helped Kirk and McCoy escape from Rura Penthe, the Klingon prison moon.

ResidentRice 12-18-2001, 04:38 AM Wow, that was an amazing display of geek knowledge. But all this post makes me think is of the quote scientists, or in this case, trekkies, learn "more and more about less and less until they know absolutely everything about absolutely nothing"

And your point is.... what?
You have a problem with a couple guys ( that would be Scott and myself), who share a common interest (that would be Start Trek), having a friendly contest to see who knows a little more about the subject? If so, feel free to not return to this thread. Scott and I are having a little fun, and if you see that as a waste of time, then dont waste yours, and stay away.
If I have somehow mis-interpreted the intent or your post, then let me be the first to appologise. It sounds like a condecending remark and kinda set me off, wondering why anyone would care why a few people would have a contest like this...
ResidentRice 12-18-2001, 03:33 PM Damn, man. I think you TOTALLY misread my post. My bad, I didn't think anyone would get offended at all. Sigh, hard to display emotions on websites sometimes. No, I think its cool that you have a hobby you're into. I mean, I'm a fan of Star Trek, but by no means a trekkie. But there's some shit that I too have gone beyond the normal limits of, which I won't mention here. My quote simply meant that you guys know a lot of details about something that is so specific, ya know? Wasn't making fun of you at all. Sorry for the miscommunication!
Brian 12-18-2001, 03:52 PM No problem... It appears I mis-interpreted your post. And for that, I appologise.
And yes, this subject defines the word trivial, but, hey it's fun!!!
ResidentRice 12-18-2001, 04:01 PM Exactly! And some would call this website trivial, too, but hell, we all have a blast on it. Well, except for when we all hate each other, but back to the challenge at hand!
