Anyone else feeling angry about this war and powerless to do anything about it?

Start taking back your world! Small grass-roots approaches to anti-war protesting can make a difference. The key is to start locally. Educate those around you. Maybe you can't change things on a global level, but affecting and changing your community can be just a powerful and personally fulfilling. If you don't want to go to the anti-war protests here are some ideas of things you can do:

1. Contact your local Food Not Bombs organization and help make dinner for the homeless people in your area. Being around like-minded people can be invigorating -- and doing some good will help empower you. www.foodnotbombs.org

2. Use your office's copy machine to print up anti-war fliers and pass them out to people while you're out on Saturday night. Hey, activism can be romantic! Make it a date and get ice-cream afterwards.

3. Put protest signs in your car. Maybe the majority of people in this country are pro-war. But that doesn't mean that your voice isn't important and shouldn't be heard. We are not sheep -- we are not war robots -- we can think for ourselves!!!

4. Boycott any store, group, or organization that publicly supports the war.

5. Carpool, bike, or walk more often. Avoid avoiding supporting the war machine by buying excessive amounts of gas.

Food not Bombs is a wonderful organization. Common folks. Lets put our time and money where our mouths are.

I have a good Idea! Stop reading the propaganda put out by ANSWER and support liberation!

1) Make your own anti-war shirts. I just finished some last night. You can make your own stencils and paint them on yourself. DIY!

2) Wear anti-war buttons on your backpacks or purses.

3) Educate your friends without going overboard. Don't prothletize.

4) Stop watching the propaganda filled "war show" on TV every night. Get the facts and then turn it off.

5) Boycott any radio stations that are blatantly pro-war. My favorite station here in LA is becoming too nationalistic so I don't listen to them very much anymore. Write the station manager about your concerns.

6) Email Bush. No, it's not going to do anything -- except let him know that the public is outraged. That's important.

7) Remember that your opinion is your opinion. It is not fact. However, that doesn't mean you should question your own validity in any way. Your voice is powerful -- use it. The power to change and affect your world is your own. It starts and ends with you.

I would get permission before using the office copy machine to print up anti-war flyers. Otherwise you risk becoming an unemployed anti-war protestor.

LOL!

Very nice ideas. A lot better than the mobs of people out there doing it the wrong way. :)

The war has started, I am not sure what the purpose of Anti War would do at this point?

Before hand I could see the protest, now I see it as pointless.

Please do not feel I am degrading what you are doing, you as an American Citizen have that right.

Regardless how I Feel about the war, I have troops to support. That is my goal and my energy will go to that.

Don't forget the massive amounts of drug use. You can't have a neo-sixties antiwar movement without drugs!

Peace, pot, and microdot! :D

The point of passive protesting is to let the majority know that they are not unanimous in their belief that war is the answer.

I understand that passive protesting won't end the war -- or make any steps towards a cease-fire.

But I do think it's important that people remember that they are not alone in their beliefs. I do think it's important that the opposition voices it's opinions and concerns. I do think it's important to see a balance.

Besides that, complacency equals passive acceptance. And I do not want anyone to think that I support this war in any way.
