Anyone else feeling angry about this war and powerless to do anything about it?
Start taking back your world! Small grass-roots approaches to anti-war protesting can make a difference. The key is to start locally. Educate those around you. Maybe you can't change things on a global level, but affecting and changing your community can be just a powerful and personally fulfilling. If you don't want to go to the anti-war protests here are some ideas of things you can do:
1. Contact your local Food Not Bombs organization and help make dinner for the homeless people in your area. Being around like-minded people can be invigorating -- and doing some good will help empower you. www.foodnotbombs.org
2. Use your office's copy machine to print up anti-war fliers and pass them out to people while you're out on Saturday night. Hey, activism can be romantic! Make it a date and get ice-cream afterwards.
3. Put protest signs in your car. Maybe the majority of people in this country are pro-war. But that doesn't mean that your voice isn't important and shouldn't be heard. We are not sheep -- we are not war robots -- we can think for ourselves!!!
4. Boycott any store, group, or organization that publicly supports the war.
5. Carpool, bike, or walk more often. Avoid avoiding supporting the war machine by buying excessive amounts of gas.
