I'm playing B&W at work during lunch and after working hours (at least, thats what the manager thinks) and I'm stuck in the last land. I use the vortex cheat so I started land 5 with something like 200 villagers (which are breeding like bunnies on viagra) and I had quite a lot of wood and food, but it's pretty much drained now because those damn villagers ate it all and built houses like there's no tomorrow. I took over a couple villages, got that spiritual shield down, finishes the dragon scroll, but am now stuck. My creature is a weakling because of the curses, I don't have any trees near my influence, and none of the villages know the Wood miracle so thats useless too. Without being able to expand my villages I can't expand my influence, and putting my weak creature in a village within Nemesis' influence that needs 6000 belief isn't gonna work either.

I love the game as long as I'm kicking butt, but I'm being Nemesis' bitch here and it's getting old fast. I'm losing interest fast so I wanna know if there's something I can do to speed it up a bit and win this game. I'm SO close....

Playing skirmish is boring too because it only take a short while, and when you win you just win, there's little reward in doing that. No next land or nothing.... I'd love to play online/over a network, but who has hours of time to play against me, and only when it suits ME?

oi, please tell me how to win this game.....

I would even be willing to use someone elses save game.. I just wanna know how it ends.

Oh, I'm pure evil btw, Nemesis somehow is the good guy now. My creature used to be pure evil too (thanks to the creature cheat) but because of the curses he's all radiant and good now. I prefer the smoking black version tho....

help!

Have your creature run over to Nemesis' land and pick up the biggest tree he can carry. Then have him bring it back to your land, where there are no villagers. Plant the tree and water the hell out of it, then move the tree and water all the saplings. Then move them and water all the new saplings. In time, you'll have a whole new forest, and you can start building splinter forests as well. It takes forever, but it's a great trick and can bring you back from the dead.

just throw lots of shit at the village you have are trying to take over...

fireballs or rocks work...

if you can get your hand close enough...shoot the hell out of it with lightning...

(guess that's why i'm evil in the game :) )

start the BBQ!
Find a bunch of rocks, break them up to nice sizes, then drop a fireball on them. Because they are next to each other they stay hot longer. Then you can hold stuff over it until they burn, or thow them at other villages.

I have not been to the last level, because I could only play on a friends computer. but I would grow trees as suggested.

Hey I am just starting out an B&W. I am on the second land now. How do I get the villagers to build houses? They are screaming "We need homes!"

Is there anything special I should now about this game? How much attention should I spend on my creature?

you have to drop wood into the workshop...

when the flag gets all the way up..they'll build scafolding...

you can take that one scafolding, and place it where you want to make a small house...

or combine multiple scaffolding to make bigger structures (bigger houses that hold more people, cemetarys, farms, more workshops)

then they'll shut up....

but i just let them whine for a while...

Most of the time they said "We need homes"...in a pathetic way....

or we need food.....the same way.

But when they start demading it..."WE MUST HAVE FOOD"...

that's when i pick up a few of them and hurl them into houses, and rain terror down onto them from the sky with lightning and fireballs.

SERVES THEM RIGHT FOR DEMANDING FROM MY ULTAMATE BEING!.

(told you i was evil):D

rebel, i dont know if you're opposed to this, but there is a cheat that lets you pick ANY creature (choose from like 15 different ones), its size, its alignment (good-evil and everything) in between, and lots of other things. I attached it here....
There's also a cheat that lets you put a LOT of stuff thru the vortex, rather than having to manually put stuff though. Makes it a LOT easier to play the next level, with and endless amount of wood and food.... gamezone.com should have it or gamefix.com or something

Cool! Thanks I'll check it out. I got a pirated version of the game so I can't apply the latest 1.1 patch. :( But that does mean I can use the cheats! :D

sure you can. All you need is the original runblack.exe , then patch the official v1.1, and then replace the v1.1 runblack.exe and you're set.

damn scott, you're slacking! You must be getting old...........

in case you need any of this, look me up on aim

it's strange...

you are a god...you gain power from your worshipers..

and you have a "creature" that you teach to do stuff...

it's hard...and...boring after a while..

but...it has it's fun points....like....depending on how benevolent you are to your people....you become "good" or "evil"

In my game, my fortress of power was black, with evil spikes sticking out of it...and bats flying around the spire :)

Okay, I'm playing this now (It is now Froggy-priced. Read: 9.99 in the markdown bin) and it's interesting. Yeah, I picked the tiger. I call him fluffy. Just entered stage 3. I spent lots of time in stage two, and he was freaking huge but mega friendly by the end. I think he was already half the size of that ancient lion we met in stage one. It's funny watching a 100-foot tall tiger break dance to entertain the villagers.

Has anyone blown up Lethys' temple BEFORE he bolts and swipes your pal? I just converted all his people by protecting them and giving them stuff until they liked me. The only ones of his that I hurt were collateral damage when they kept running back to his temple after I shooed them away so I could torch it.

Since I figured the portal would wait, I went ahead and played CEO- I pulled most of my existing resources up and tossed them in ahead of me (including some scaffolds) before follwing on to stage 3.

How do you check your own alignment (I'm trying to stay way on the good side)?

I hated that game.
I could never teach the pet.
It be s***ign all over the place and eating villagers.

I beat the crap outta him the one time he munched a villager. I also offered him appropriate food and rewarded him when he ate it. He learned that part pretty easily.

The pooping is addressed easily by smacking him if he chooses a bad spot and rewarding him when he finds a good place. Just like your dog or cat.

I've heard that once you show him the basics with the learning leash on, put on the 'nice' leash and tie him up in the town center. He'll learn a lot more that way on his own.

WHOA.

Okay, here's a quirk. I've been playing and staying quite good. My creature is freaking huge but really kindly to everyone and is rated as angelic.

Sooo, I made a save point, decided to mess around for a bit before I quit for the evening. I ran all the totems to 100% and got every living villager to show up. Tossed all of them on the sacrifice pyre (built up over a million power points, oh and did you know that when they die you can toss their skeleton on again for more points?) burned villages left and right, set fire to a creature and then punished him for healing himself. My kingdom went to the dark side fast, and my control hand went straight to red.

I chuckle, exit game without saving, and that's the end of it.

...or so I thought.

I re-entered later after finishing some work, and found that while my villagers were as they were at my last purposeful save, somehow the red hand stayed and my temple immediately went from the nice place I had saved to the dark tower that it had become during my little experiment!!!

I checked and ALL PAST SAVES are corrupted in this fashion!!!

It looks like your own condition must be saved automatically separately from the game conditions save.

I think I'll have to start a new character from scratch.

LOL, more like Zebra-Striped.

I started a new character name from scratch. I'll spend a lot longer in the first land teaching fluffy to be nice and to do a lot more tricks before we leave.
