I am sure that I am the only person on the planet that doesn't know this, but its soooo much better from a bottle.

Well, I'm not a drinker myself, but from what I've always heard it's some sort of mild chemical reaction between the can & the beer itself that taints the flavor a bit in canned beer.

Not a chemist, but yeah, basically that's what I've heard all my life. And besides even the reaction with the aluminum and beer, think about it. You're drinking beer and sucking on a piece of metal at the same time. Imagine eating a steak, and after every bite, you chew on a little piece of tin foil.

You chew on your beer bottles?

I figured it was some kind of reaction with the aluminum but wasn't sure. Was having a few yesterday evening, 1 from a can, 1 from a bottle, same brand, and was noticing the difference.

Yeah I know, frats are wierd. Here at HMC we just focus on outdrinking frats, without the dumb stuff they do like chew on beer cans :D

We have our own dumb stuff though.

They already have some kind of Miller that comes in a plastic bottle... I forget what its called, but the comercial is a cluts who drops it and it bounces or whatever...

Anyways yeah I can see Mikes point as well... if your tounge is on the metal bottle itll be different than the glass can

In retrospect...to find out who was right, Mike and I or you other losers, you could pour beer from a bottle, and beer from a can into 2 cups... assuming your right, and there is a chemical reaction... you should be able to taste the difference.

You know how my parents are with us drinking, and I think they're going out this year, anyway. Hmmm. Oh, yeah, can we have someone besides my parents supplying the alcohol for this party? They don't mind, but I'd rather not have them give us any more alcohol, considering they've probably donated a couple of hundred bucks worth of consumables to our worthwhile endeavours so far. Ask Pat about it. He got to enter the sacred temple with me one day. The Beer Cooler.

Im not sure, maybe liquids get a small tweek in taste when stored in aluminum.

The aluminum is not much of an insulator. Glass is. So beer in cans can change temperatures quickly, which is not very good for beer.

Bottles do have one minor problem. Put a can & a bottle on ice but where the sun can hit them. Leave for a few hours and try that 'taste-test'. Cans ARE better sometimes!:D

A little off my original subject, but one time I had a party at my house when the parents went to the 87 orange bowl. Well, it ended up being one of those parties like you see in 16 candles: Pizza on the turntable, strange female in my waterbed, Def Leppard CD GONE!! Moms underwear and other stuff gone, guitar strings broken, strange things in the fish tank, and some dork spray painted one of our cows!! Yes, I lived on a farm, I can't believe some dipshit tagged our cow. :D

It is if you do not buy it cold and need to cool it down, of course this is assuming your not the kind of guy that'll babysit an opened beer for an hour. :) :)

I have heard what he was getting at stated before however, hence dark bottles for some brands:)

Did you know, I had never, never, noticed this little problem? Now when I drink from cans it's barely bearable...
