Scott 12-08-2001, 07:12 PM who still has bins of Legos!..
how cool were they!...
i used to get space sets..and bases...but then i just got good enough to build my own :)....
JoeyNormal 12-08-2001, 08:24 PM A mountain. A ****ing mountain. It rules a corner of my room, daringf me to build it up and sell it, but somehow I never do....
Momof6 12-08-2001, 09:03 PM If you boys would like to rid yourself of your toys, I have 6 kids who love Legos. I just bought them a whatsit to help them build balloon cars, solar race cars, etc....all with Legos. This kit only costs $20 and can independently build 5 things and added to the Legos we have, the possibilities are limitless........should be fun to watch.
Sooooooo, if you wish to donate them, let me know. I always take charity!!! :D :D
JoeyNormal 12-09-2001, 03:37 AM I'd love to, but I there's the matter of geography.
Shadowhawk 12-09-2001, 04:46 PM Don't still have any myself, but I still think they're about the coolest thing going:D I did ALMOST buy the big new Lego X-Wing though, until I saw the price on the bloody thing! WAY cool, but man it was massively expensive:(

Federal Express, when it absolutely positively has to be there eventually:D
ChaoticThoughts 12-10-2001, 01:51 AM I have a bucket of them, It was one of my last toys that I passed on to my younger brother. I sure played with them alot.
ResidentRice 12-10-2001, 10:03 AM Hmm, I have a pretty fair share myself. Lost a couple pieces to the castle I got when I was like, 10, and kinda gave it up. So, Mom, I am actually going to be out in AZ this winter, I'll drop some of them off. :)
Calypso 12-10-2001, 06:49 PM legos rule!my brother an i still have tons of em.we also have duplos(oversized legos from when we were wee ones)
ResidentRice 12-12-2001, 11:26 AM duplos were weird, man. Just really, really weird.
JoeyNormal 12-12-2001, 02:11 PM That they were.
And even Federal Express wouldn't help here, I'm in New Zealand....
D Durden 12-12-2001, 05:32 PM MEMEMEMEMEMEMEME!!!!!
I've got that new "mech" one up in my living room now!
LOL!
Aphasia 12-16-2001, 05:16 AM I have a really big suitcase of them...my brothers play with them now. Can't seem to find my train set, though (which actually runs, once you build the train and the track and buy about $50 worth of batteries).
Were they this expensive back in the 80s? Because I seem to remember Legos being the toy my parents got me when I was good when we went out or something....and now a decent set is $80 (I know, I still buy them for my brothers...though the medium-sized $30-40 sets, usually...I'm a broke college kid).
Scott 12-16-2001, 03:41 PM i remember it took me like 5 mins to put together a space base....
i was a regular lego archetect
Shadowhawk 12-18-2001, 07:23 AM Nah, Aph... From what I recall they were a fair amount cheaper in the 80s and beyond. They seem to have gone up drasticly the last few years. Like I said earlier in this thread, I about shit on myself when I saw the price of the new Lego X-Wing fighter:eek:
Aphasia 12-18-2001, 01:56 PM Yeah, for real - I went to buy my little brother one of the huge Lego sets, figuring it'd be like it was when I was growing up (I had about 10 of the big sets), but there was no way I had an $80 gift in my budget...so he got the $35 medium-sized Amazon River Exploration kit. It was cool, though...a big temple with hidden traps and skeletons and stuff...pretty neat.

I just popped back in here!! Well, we are here, except over Christmas....gotta go to mom-in-law's house in Palm Springs, but if you are serious send me a private message. I bought my boys a toy that works with Legos to make balloon cars and cool stuff like that. now if I could just get them off the computer again!!! :D
We do take hand outs when it comes to Legos cause they are soooooo expensive!! My hubby finds them at garage sales. I think the only time we bought new ones was when we sent them to a friend from Ugandas kids. They had never seen Legos and he said they loved them.
Pony Babe 02-12-2002, 08:14 PM no we have duplos.........................
86Dude 02-18-2002, 07:37 PM If those weren't the coolest things ever, I don't know what is. In 6 months my wife will have our first child. I can't wait till he or she gets old enough to give me an excuse to break them out.
BonnieBon 05-22-2002, 04:21 PM You're all right-- legos are the bomb! But I wasn't that into them, because i had something even cooler - Anyone ever heard of Pipeworks? They made them in like the 80's. Its this set of plastic pipe tubing things with connector pieces that you make into things like clubhouses, The BESTEST thing was my pipeworks monkey bars that i spent hours hanging upside down on. We still have a wagon in the garage made of that cool toy-- big enough for a full size adult to sit in, but probably would only support like 100 pounds or so.. I love that toy- they just dont make stuff like that anymore.
