So im ordering some sees candy and they have an item called the holiday star. It is blue, white and yellow. So I figure they are trying to be nondenominational, and didn't call it a hanuka star, but called it the 'holiday' star. Okay.

But then they have a CHRISTmas tree box and a SANTA CLAUS. They did not call it the holiday tree and the big jolly fat bringer of presents box. They clearly assigned denominations...why not the hanuka box?

I for one am going to call it the hanuka box.

Christmas trees & Santa Clause are considered to be non-denominational by some because they have roots outside the traditional Christian holiday they've become tied to.

That said however, the PC 'nobody's allowed to have a holiday of their own, because it might offend someone else' attitude is completely assinine. The only defense I can see for the candy company is that by calling it a 'holiday' star, they figured they could sell it to everybody rather than POSSIBLY just Jews. Still a bit silly to me however...

Man I miss See's Candy out here though:D

Its finals time! Papers, exams worth 50% of a final grade...add that to xmas shopping, my girlfriends birthday, full time job, part time job...
