Could some kind and pleasant soul possibly resize these images for me?

You see, I've been using Paint, and it sucks. I'm trying to get two images down to avatar-size, but they look really bad when small. Argh!

I have no idea how pixels work, because I've seen people on forums with massive custom avatars, that must be 50x50. For me, 50x50 is tiny!

Anyway, I'd like them avatar-sized, pixel-wise, but not too small to look at (not too much smaller than they are now, but with the borders removed), but still at reasonable quality. Is that impossible? I seem to think so.
