Ever since Summer, I have been thinking of taking a year off of school.

Back then I was thinking of deferring enrollment and starting as a freshman next year. Ever since then, I've always had the thought that I would take a year off after this year and come back as a sophomore the year after. It started out as a passive thought, one I only entertained for moments at a time...but in recent weeks it's been a much more constant thought, and one I'm giving serious thought to.

I've not talked to my parents about this yet...before today I hadn't talked to anybody about it. I want to figure out what I want to do before I start taking steps to do it.

The more I think about it, the more it stays on my mind. In the forefront of my mind.

These years will probably be the best/easiest years to do something like that......I'd say take the oportunity while you have it.

I always wanted to take a year off.
Thing of it is, I never had the money.
Now I have the money, and I can't take a year off because I need to be at work.

You can come chill with me homie.

I would seriously reccomend against it.

It sounds like a good thing...

but...the hardest thing you'll ever do is go back to school from taking time off.

I've seen it...people take take time off, and no matter how resolved they are to go back...they never do.

I'm telling you dude.....don't do it

Well, I'm with Scott somewhat, but I do have a friend who's 23 who came back. Doing GREAT.

I just want you to be happy. Do whatever shall attain this.

Yeah- what Sprite said. but Seriously... it is irrelevant how often people come back after time off from school. Only you can know if its the right thing and if you will come back.

But definitely, if you have any doubt that after a year off, you wouldnt return, then DEFINITELY dont do it.

personally, the idea of takin a year off never really appealed to me. but if that is what is going to make you happy, i say go for it.. just make sure you weigh the pros and cons... Because do you really want to move back in with the Rents? Do you want to invest a year in LA and have ot go back knowing that whatever you've built here during that year will have to wait another 3 years?

"Manu - I hate you. You're making me miss home soooooooo much. I DON'T WANNA BE ON THIS END OF THE COUNTRY ANYMORE! Well, perhaps I should amend that. After I meet Kat and Ponycar and Æ, then I wanna go home."

straw that broke the camels back?

how' the decision coming?

I decided to defer. I'm going thru the meetings phase right now, getting the paperwork ready, talking to a counsellor/shrink to get some of the jumble of thoughts in my head sorted out.

I'm also talking with my father--my mother royally pissed me off today by saying some very mean and stupid things--about what I can do for my year off. My main choices are Los Angeles, New York, or London, although nowhere is totally off-limits to me.

My life is kind of chaotic right now. Fortunately, I have until mid-May to figure most of it out.
