People are way too hypersensitive.
If I make an off color or non PC joke my friends know I mean nothing by it. I won't make such jokes to other people cause I know they will get offended. But occasionally a friend will suprise me. Nine times out of ten they laugh along but then that one time they get upset and yell and scream. What gives? Why you so sensitive now?
If I am talking in a non serious and non derogatory manner how is that hurting anyone? Why do we let works and definitions hurt us? (when NOT said in a hurtful or derogatory way?)
I just don't get it...

I totally agree with you, Manu. People are TOO hypersensitive. What happened to having a thick skin and laughing about shit?
I blame it on people having their priorities out of whack. They place importance on the wrong things. In the end, honesty is sacrificed leaving us with insincerity and other PC-like thinking. It's all so nauseating, really...
True!
The problem however comes from the fact that SOME people use the non PC terms as derogatory comments. But if we didn't let ourselves get worked up over them it wouldn't be a derogatory comment....
Case and point. My friends can call me a towel head in jest. I have never worn a turban (unless it was for a costume or something) , nor do I think anyone in my family has...but do I take offesne to that term? Nope, cause I know they mean no harm by it.
Some Ahole on the street calls me one, and I will probably have some words with him...
That is how we should be PC...but the people getting offended over the usage of the ward gays? Or people getting upset if I say blacks? no one gets upset if I say whites do they? Argh, im on a tangent.

Being Mr. PC himself I really cant relate Manu. ;) Honestly, as you can imagine I feel your pain often. Having the offbeat sense of humor I have I often offend sensitive people when I think Im being funny. I dont know what hurts me more, that people dont have the same sence of humor as me or that people who I think should know me well enough to know when Im kidding. I feel ya dude :( "Some people just need to take some Prozac and grow a sense of humor" ;)
PS fugg PC!

I agree. My question is that if that is how you truly feel, why do you always vote for a political party and candidates that champion PC?

If I was voting on party based ONLY on that one issue you're right, I'd be voting for the wrong one. But the fact is theya re not PC merely to be PC, they are PC because they, I feel, tend to understand the various viewpoints better. There is also a difference between being PC for the sake fo being PC or being PC to avoid borad generalizations and misrepresentations.

I can find only one solution the the damage done by PC. And that is POT! If everyone is stoned, we would laugh at everything, and we could eat some pizza together. The first step to world peace :)

It seems to me that pc is nothing BUT 'broad generalizations and misrepresentations'.
