Sunday, I decided to change out the factory fuel filter. While I have it jacked up I looking at the 1 5/8" stock flow pipes and tips coming off the off-road H. I said, WTH and took a big drill bit and put a couple of hole in the flow tube and flowmasters. (YES Nic, Magnaflows are in my future) Its louder now but runs like a raped ape. I dont think the 86k fuel filter swap would have helped. Could it?

They should be changed every 30k... Yeah, it undoubtedly helped some at any rate. The holes probably helped just as much though... Less exhaust backpressure:D

Gotta be careful with the holes. You reduce the backpressure too much and you'll hurt performance (like a clown I know who put a 3" exhaust w/ 3" Flows on an '86 LTD with a STOCK 302... stupid)
