Sweet!
The Z8 is gorgeous, but unfortunately mad expensive. We're talking mid range 100K.
I'd much rather get my AWD TT 911.

jeep?? :( :( almost as bad as dodge rams.. /me pukes :)
a friend of mine wants a bmw when she grows up.. she wanted to know if I can make those z3s fast.. I said yeah.. just throw some n2o on there.. that should do it..
Yeah the Z8 has a 5.0 engine. It is a nice and fast car...great looker, but it does 100% break the wallet.
The new M3s are lookers and speed demons...333HP, and insane tranny's suspension...
ResidentRice 12-01-2001, 08:51 PM Um, the only beef I have with the M3's this time around is that you can actually tell them from a 330 or whatever easily. I thought the beauty of an M3 was that only people who really enjoyed cars knew that it was anything more than a glorified yuppy-mobile. I mean, 3-series are nice, but M3's are kick-ass. I just like the down-low attitude of the older ones. But hell, with almost 100 more hp at tap, maybe the big little Bimmer needed to show its stuff.
Corporate Avenger 12-01-2001, 09:18 PM I think it's waaayyyyyy overpriced, It's 100 grand more than a 01 Cobra yet barely faster. Imagine what a beast you could build with a 100k in mods for the Cobra:eek:
Shadowhawk 12-02-2001, 03:57 AM I'm with CA completely on the price issue, but it still is a totally gorgeous car none the less:)
Fordman50 12-03-2001, 08:14 AM That thing has LA writen all over it. BTW Manu, why didnt you get a vert?

The cost.
The actually car cost isn't that much like 20-40/mo more...but the insurance was like 2K/yr more for someone my age...
I figured by the time I am done paying this car off, I will be graduated from college, and I can look at owning a vert then.
Believe me, I wanted one BAD.

your younger than me and you own a mineral grey GT right???
/me jealous
what do you do for a living to be able to afford that car?
If 20 is younger than you, then yes. ;-)
Im your typical IT professional bum. I work at the UCLA Medical Center doing computer support. I am also currently living at home so im saving bank doing that.
Wedge 12-03-2001, 02:17 PM haha.. you are older.. I am 21..
I do data entry and some computer support for a blood banking industry in atlanta.. but you sound more like your into I.T. what all education/job experience do you have to get that job?? if you don't mind me asking..
Im confused...im 20 you're 21...you're older...lol :p
I don't mind you asking at all. Education wise I just have a high school degree. I have 1 year experience handling mac/pc computers/network (over 200 desktops) at a high school. Worked breaks for the district doing computer upgrades on imacs.
I have been in the web design field for about 5 years (as an amateur mostly)
And then a slew of organizations/groups I started in high school.
seen a couple around here, it doesn't do much for me...
Snouter 12-06-2001, 08:47 PM I was a passenger in one during the summer. He is the son of a friend of my father's. I went into his garage and saw the silver Z8 and just kept saying "Oh my God, holy shit, that's awesome." It makes the Z3 which are common here look like toys. It turned heads even in a town full of rich yuppies.
There is a party this Saturday at the dude's house (mansion) and I will bring a camera in case the car is there, but it will be too dark I am afraid. The dude also has the supercharged Jaguar convertible which is cool because it has functional air vents in the hood fancier than my Capri ;) , and an exotic Mercedes coupe and other vehicles. He says the Z8 (cost him less than $130K) is not as quick as his old Porsche Turbo but is still quite fun to drive.
OMG I'd die snouter! That's awesome! Do try to take pics!
They are gorgeous cars.
Snouter 12-09-2001, 11:09 AM Sorry I wasn't able to get pics. I brought an old video camera that I thought I could use. But it was dark with a rain/snow mixture coming down. I talked to the host for about 15 seconds before he greeted someone else. After all, about 150 of his closest friends were there. The only available chicks were the caterers walking around with orderves, but they probably thought I was a stuck up yuppie like the rest of his guests.
His Mercedes CLK 55 was parked outside which is a cool car also looks just like this.

The Supercharged Jaguar Convertable which I thought was an XKR which I saw in his driveway during the summer looked like this except it had vents in the hood where you could actually see the engine through. On second glance, I think I can see the vents in the pic below on both siides of the hood.

It is a strange relationship. My father and his father worked for the same company years ago. They have been friends since then. Since I hang out with my father and his father sometimes, I get invited to certain events. His son is a little older than me and as a commodites trader, makes a ton of cash; more than an all-star NBA player for example. I will definitely have a digital camera next time. :D
