Ok, I have a little project for the future. I have an old '87 pathfinder with a crappy 4 cyl that gives me only 15 mpg on the highway and provides the acceleration of a dumptruck.
Since I really only use the thing for hunting and offroading, the acceleration doesn't bother me, so I'm doing some research on some diesel engines that I can drop in it to get mileage and torque. So far the only reasonably doable one i can find is the Nissan SD25 diesel, but it actually has less torque than the 2.5L gas engine the SUV comes with. So then comes the SD33, but I'll have to make all kinds of mods that I was avoiding.
I'm just pissed and venting. Unless someone has an idea.
