View Full Version : SUV's and Trucks
Powerboss 11-26-2001, 04:27 PM I have both
A Ford Bronco
and
An F-250 turbodeisel
I just love them, and I love pissing people off who have a problem with me owning them.
My f-250 is the best truck I have ever owned.
92Notch 11-26-2001, 04:38 PM I have a 2000 GMC z71, it would be stupid for me to drive it everyday ' cause my 5.0 Mustang almost doubles the mileage my truck gets. (I drive from Balt MD to Arlington VA ... every f'in day). I do not give a **** if you drive your truck or not (my mustang will out handle and out accelerate it, and it’s easy(ier) on Gas :) .. it’s better :) ).... It just does not make sense to ME. Some people like to drive a truck everyday, some people like to drive a Mustang everyday…. Some people would argue we should all be driving piece of shit recycled-beer can Honda’s (**** them) everyday. In any type of vehicle there are people who drive like *******s, and there are people that drive cool …. Trucks are just big and rememberable, so they catch a bad rap.
86Dude 11-26-2001, 04:44 PM A Bronco isn't an SUV in my opinion. Its a 4X4 and as such didn't come with a power moon roof, CD changer, automatic climate control, or entertainment center. Most Bronco's I see are covered with mud, sporting a rebel flag, and a gun rack. SUV's, covered with fresh wax, sporting "my child is an honor student", and a baby seat. Don't insult your Bronco by calling it an SUV.
Powerboss 11-26-2001, 05:31 PM Good points.
BTW, I have a Mustang too and it is indeed fun to drive.
I think the point about *******s driving every type of vehicle is dead on.

You're retarded. Why would someone have a problem with what vehicles you own. Could you be any more self centered? Nobody cares what you drive! I also agree that a Bronce is a far cry from an SUV.
Powerboss 11-27-2001, 03:45 AM **** you *******.
You were the one WHINING about SUV"s and trucks and how evil they are. Remember those threads? They ride bad, block your view (of what I dont know, other cars on the highway perhaps?), they dont handle, they guzzle gas (which I would dare say that some Mustang built up probably burns as much, if not more gas than my Bronco), they pollute (same goes with the mustang scenario above), ect ect ect.
I posted this to piss *******s like yourself, off.
And it obviously worked.
You are so ****ing predictable.
Like a 2 year old.
Shit, my 2 year old daughter is far less predictable and clearly more intelligent than you, you *******.
Go back to school and learn something and quit being such an emotional, whiney, *******.
Turbostang 11-27-2001, 04:54 AM Hey Bill, you ought to save some of that for Ian.

Oh, I think Ian has enough to deal with, with you all over him!
Fordman50 11-27-2001, 06:38 AM I have had 7 trucks in my life and I love them. However I needed them for my buisness (when I had one before the FIRST Bush recession). I also love my dad's full sized bronco.
What gets my goat is the soccer moms driving those tanks around to pick up the kids and crap! What a complete wast of money, gas, and air quality! I sometimes have a fantisy where I slap some sence into one of these dumb bitches at the gas station. That kind of overt wastefulness is sickening to me. I have no respect for the average American who THINKS the "need" a tank just to drive to work every day. I could understand if you had a big boat (not a wet bike) to tow or like to go 4 wheelin (who doesnt?) But at least they could get a commuter to drive to the mall in. Give me a breaks you selfish American pigs! :D
Thats all :D:D:D

Yeah, Ian, that post is just FULL of LOVE and ADMIRATION of all humans.... and full of something else, also...
And you say that you are incapable of hate? My wife drives and F-150. We also own a full size E-150 conversion van. You wanna slap her around, give it your best shot. I'd sit back and watch her kick your arrogant, self centered, moronic ass right back to the state line.
The average American has the right to CHOOSE what vehicle they wish to drive. They should be able to do so without having to listen to the rancor from *******s who try to think for the average American. Don't wanna drive a truck, fine, don't. But stay the **** out of other peoples business (oh, damn, I forgot, being a Clinton worshiper, you CAN"T allow people to think for themselves...).
Oh, and the wife is just waiting for to try and slap some sense into her.... and waiting , and waiting....

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!:D :D :D :D :D
You typed more than I did! Na-na-na-na-na-na!!!
Momof6 11-27-2001, 01:21 PM Ya know, I usually could care less about cars and stuff, especially SUV's, since I happen to like Vette's and other sports cars. Don't own one, just longingly look!!! But, Ian's stupid comments just made me stop and say........what a twit.
Look, I ain't no soccer mom for sure, but I own a 15 passenger Dodge 350. We have 6 kids and one dog with a huge kennel. And we can only afford one car, so this is it. I drive it empty to the store, as I would never, unless forced, take all 6 kids shopping for groceries to 3 different stores. And I don't see what has your shorts all up in a knot over women takin' their kids to and from places, as if it is any of your bloody business. What do you do with your....fold 'em and stick 'em in the trunk??? After all, they need room so they don't touch each other, or breath on each other, or spill food on each other. Oh, I remember....you have two little girls.......sweet. I have 5 boys and one girl that can fend for herself.
It's attitudes like that, that make us Conservatives angry......and who gives a rat's behind what you think of moms driving big cars if they have kids. The only problem I have with soccer mom's is that they voted for that piece of trash Clinton and his idiot sidekick algore.
BTW, I would first watch Brian's wife kick your butt for slapping her, and then i woud call the cops and have you busted for assault!! Becky don't put up with being hit by guys no more!! Did it for too long.
Sheesh!
buggy 11-27-2001, 01:38 PM My gripe with the soccer moms is they don't pay attention to the road, they drive huge vehicles they can't handle.
If you can't pay attention to the road because of your kids, hire a driver, take a bus, do something, but don't smash into people on the road because you're inconsiderate and selfish.
D Durden 11-27-2001, 01:58 PM For once, I'm with Buggy.
I don't CARE what you own. Heck, I've got a Probe AND a 76 Caddy Fleetwood. Wanna' talk tonnage? It's got a 500 Caddy motor . . . crap, the engine alone weighs what a Sentra does. I got pulled over in it yesterday . . . by the COAST GUARD! Sheesh . . .
The thing is that you take a person who's spent their entire life driving a Saturn or a Corolla (only the Japanese would make a car they can't pronounce . . .LOL) and put them in a freaking Navigator and expect them to understand that the big sucker don't stop on a dime. I hate to look in my rear view and see some chick . . . well, not even a chick, just freaking knuckles and a hair bow . . . barrelling towards me doing 60 and stopping about a knat's ass off my bumper. And then the bitch has the nerve to call the police for me firing three or four warning shots into the grill to let her know I'm down there. :D
Honestly, I don't CARE what you drive, but PLEASE drive it well! My ex-wife, as much as I CAN say about her, I can't say she was a bad driver . . . . be it a Mustang or an F-350 Super Duty. Women CAN drive big vehicles. And, heck, I don't mind a soccer mom with 4 kids and a Tahoe. That's cool. Just PLEASE remember that while you don't feel threatened pulling out in front of me on the highway at a scalding pace of 22 mph while you talk on your cell phone to your buddy Mary Rottencrotch about you latest find at the boutique, I bloody well do! And I don't know what scares me more . . . me looking at my car with MY baby seat about to be slammed by you or the fact that you have 3 or 4 baby seats in YOUR vehicle . . . and that's how you still drive.
I don't care WHAT you drive, just get off the damn phone, put up the make-up, and freaking pilot your barge home.

The average junkie has a right to destroy their life but its THEIR life. Soccer moms are killing MY and MY kids air quality by using trucks as every day cars. They are consuming MY kids future fuels. They endanger OUR lives with these tanks the kill all the hit! So in effect it IS my buisness! ;p
Momof6. If your toten 6 kids you NEED a truck ;)
Snouter 11-27-2001, 02:50 PM A Ford Country Squire Station wagon can hold 6. Can you drop a 5.0 with a 5 speed in those Country Squires?
The reason it is unsafe to bicycle ride is partly due to the SUV's but also because of volume of traffic, the speeding, the trucks of illegal immigrant lawn crews, school buses driven by morons, etc.
slayr420 11-27-2001, 03:07 PM Heh, somebody swore.

And your modified Mustang is not? Don't even think about casting stones. You live in a house made of VERY thin glass. BTW, ALL auto's combined contribute less than 2% of all green house gases. Why don't you try another avenue in your quest to tell people how to live. I'll tell you why, you have bought into this pollution crap hook line and sinker without ever questioning the source of the information. THE U.S. GOVERNMENT. More specifically, Clinton and Gore.

No shit. Wow! I never would have dreamt of such a thing. You mean OIL is not a renewable source?! Surely you're kidding?! Hmmm... Seems like we ought to be lookin' for a new energy source (like nuclear) or maybe drilling for more oil... Oh wait, those are things you have been against in the past...
(again, this above web site addresses these issues also...)

No more so than the idiot who crams his hopped up sports car into another vehicle head on because he lost control of it at high speed. At least a truck or SUV would have a chance for it's passengers to survive in a head on. But I digress. I'm sure you were on the 'build a safer vehicle' band wagon back in the '80's & 'early '90's. Now they have, and all you can do is look for something else to bitch about. Your new target is what you wanted, a safer vehicle. BTW, at least where I live, there are 8 to 1 more cars causing accidents than SUV's or trucks. Funny, you piss and moan about Honda's and Toyota's, but, your 'stang is worse in the gas mileage department. If your so concerned about the future fuel for the kiddies, go buy an electric car (will ultimately still use petrolium to recharge it, though).

No Bill Clinton, it is NOT your business. Never has been nor will it ever be your business. None of your arguments could hold even an ounce of water. As usual, you have spouted off at the mouth without providing ANY proof of your claims. Just opinion...
And BTW, not ALL soccer moms are like that, guys. There are poor drivers, male and female, in every type of vehicle imaginable.
86Dude 11-27-2001, 03:26 PM There is a lot of love in here. :D
Momof6 11-27-2001, 05:51 PM "A Ford Country Squire Station wagon can hold 6. Can you drop a 5.0 with a 5 speed in those Country Squires? "
See, this may be true, but can it hold a dog and her kennel, an 18 ft. tent, 3 coolers, 4 suitcases, a kyack, water island that is 6 ft X 6 ft, along WITH the 6 kids?? That is my life on road trips and that is usually just a three hour drive!!
Besides......as a young lady I took a vow never, ever to drive a station wagon like my mother did!! Many of us gals did and THAT is why someone invented the mini-van......which is simply a glorified station wagon. :D :D :D Ok, so that is my theory of the mini-van.

Brian, True the Mustang is a pig but its not a daily driver either. I drive it about 1500 miles a year and for fun. SUVs prolly average 15000 a year and are daily drivers. Big diff in my book.
How about your wife verses mine? My girl was a big sister to two girls and a boy who all grew up in a 2 room shack in the sticks who were always scrapping (and known to stab eathother with forks). She an educated redneck and former all state athelete who can kick some ass when mad! ;)
Powerboss 11-27-2001, 06:40 PM Me and my buddy JWreck have buried the hatchet.
As for you Ian, we have had our times havent we?
ResidentRice 11-27-2001, 10:46 PM HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Fordman, fordman, fordman. I cannot believe you actually used fuel consumption as a reason why people should not drive SUVs. Wait, tho, aren't most of the common SUVs built by American companies? So how can they be bad cars? Everyone should buy a f-150 or a dodge ram or a explorer, better yet, buy a ****ing Excursion! I mean, they're all American made, and hell, ford makes 3 times as much profit off of each excursion than it does a Mustang! Wait, but are you saying there are other reasons to buy cars than just where they are built? You mean that (gasp!) gas consumption should actually be a factor? Oh, good lord!
You're a pile, fordman. You just proved my arguement. I thought you were actually a die-hard America-first person. Nope, you're just unrealistic and expect everyone to be completely content with a mustang. The size of it (barely fits 5), the speed of it (can't talk shit there), the cost of it (not too big of a hit for a base model), and the fuel economy of it (which sucks ass compared against most anything EXCEPT an SUV). Little, little man. I'm ashamed to support Clinton to the same extent you do. I think I might become a conservative now. :)
Corporate Avenger 11-27-2001, 11:17 PM My Mustang used to get 30 miles to the gallon on the highway with 2.73's
That's pretty damned good for V8 with lotsa mods..
ResidentRice 11-28-2001, 02:57 AM Yeah, well, my brother's EX gets 43mpg freeway 6,000 miles after his last oil change. My point is not that Mustangs don't have decent mileage, once again, I think its a good car, I'd just probably never own one for the current prices they sell for. My point was that Fordman brought up the issue of fuel economy being an important factor when buying a car or truck.
Fordman50 11-28-2001, 06:29 AM I said buy American, not buy tanks! BTW, my friends Nissan 4 cyl 4x4 truck only get 14 MPG on a good day on the hwy!

You are one person, one family. How many people with modded 'stangs use them as daily drivers? I know several around here who drive them everyday unless there is snow on the ground (for obvious reasons).
So, basically, we're down to the ga mileage being the problem. I can live with lower gas mileage (both the truck and van get 18-20 on the highway), since I know the passenger survivability ratings for my vehicles is far better than average in a head-on. How do you feel about your chances in the 'stang?
As for emmissions, just had to get the van and truck tested this month, both put out zero CO and < 1% of the allowable CO2 limit. Both limits for these '93 & '94 model years are very close to what my '86 Escort GT are, and they are better than the Escort.
Any more questions???

MEMEMEMMEMEMEMEME!!! My '65's got a 409 stroker motor . . . solid lifters . . . big-azz Holley, and she goes to work with me (45 minute drive, each way) about every day.
She gets between 12 and 16 mpg, but I can buy a bloody TON of gas with no car payment . . . you know?
ResidentRice 11-28-2001, 08:49 PM Buy American and not buy tanks? Well, how about I choose? You're an unAmerican prick when you tell me I shouldn't choose based on my own decisions.
Shadowhawk 12-05-2001, 11:05 PM I gotta back up Brian here on the Emissions crap here. With 4 or 6 convertors on ALL vehicles nowadays, trucks burn so clean during emissions tests it's scarey. In fact the only two PERFECT absolutely ZERO hydrocarbons or carbon monoxcide tests I ever ran were both on Ford Expeditions. Hell, even my 1980 F-100 burns as clean as most 1990 cars on every emissions test I've ran on it.
