View Full Version : Guys who dance (or don't)
Allegra 11-19-2001, 09:32 PM Okay, my question is sort of silly, but here goes:
Why do guys hate dancing? Especially extra-hot bass players who really groove with their guitars?;)
Contraband 11-19-2001, 10:25 PM Damn, thank you. I think you're pretty hot yourself. But, i dont hate dancing. I just feel like a fool. I am not very, um coordinated. But if you want tango lessons, gimme a call, ill give it a try.
Wedge 11-19-2001, 11:55 PM I have a dance called "the generic white boy dance" you just stand still and nod your head.. while holding your hand straight up and slightly bending your wrist on beat... hey it works for me.. :)
D Durden 11-20-2001, 01:08 PM Hell, I'll dance . . . every chance I get . . . and generally quite badly. BUT, I will dance.
Dancing will get you a chick faster than almost anything else (barring money and great looks . . . and money . . . and money NEVER hurts . . . but money is your best bet). I can't tell you how many times some drunken frat schmuck made fun of me on a dance floor . . . as I was walking off . . . with a girl . . . and he had his fist around a . . . beer . . . for now.
Guys, if you don't, you should. You really should.

Then you must not be doing it right! Remember to leave your purse at the table . . . LMAO!!!
AdamJ 11-20-2001, 01:48 PM HA HA
LOL
Je$ter 11-20-2001, 02:27 PM I will dance....generally not by choice...and when I do...ugh....you guys seen that commercial with the Blue Guys for Intel....the one where they have that big tube "4" and the guy beating on it with the drum sticks? Well, I dance about as well as the guy in that commercial.....lol.
I pretty much tell people I don't dance...safer that way... :D

Exactly Dave! I think lots of guys are so worried about looking stupid that they won't do it. What they don't understand is that most girls are so thrilled that the guy is dancing in the first place, that it doesn't matter if he's good at it.

Once, when a teeniebopper, I was out somewhere with my chums and this guy asked me to dance. He was a chum of a chum and a member of the local crazy bikers club. We were slow dancing to Freebird (if you are too young to know it never mind) I think.......ok so far. Then the fast part came on and he began to dance what I like to call "the epileptic fit" dance. I thought I would DIE of embarassement. You sort of sashay around so no one knows your actually dancing with him. :D Of course I'm from Ohio and I hardly met a white boy who could atually keep a beat and dance at the same time, though they did the bump and grind well. I on the other hand, had a go-go dancer for a Mom and could dance as I learned to walk!!! All in the waist and hips. ;)
Too busy now......
D Durden 11-20-2001, 03:47 PM *sigh*
My girlfriend has more moves than Bugs Bunny in a minefield full of carrots.
ChaoticThoughts 11-20-2001, 04:04 PM The only dance I am interested in is horizontial.

You know, they say you can tell how well someone will perform horizontally by watching them perform vertically...
AdamJ 11-20-2001, 06:44 PM 'They' is wrong.

If you dance with on the floor first, you might get your wish. All the guys who think they look stupid, picture this, I'm a little chubby, have no rythm, and have hair past my shoulders, and still try to do the cabbage patch.:D The girls still love it! I don't know why, maybe its just my animal magnetism? ***cough***bullshit****cough***

Yea...and you just go on believing that.....your loss....lol
;)
Scott 11-21-2001, 05:49 PM I DANCE....(did you really not know?)
i swing (lindy, east coast, west coast, shag)
i tango
and i am formally trained in Jazz and Tap...
though i am still a bit too "white boy" to dance much hip hop :)

Long Live the Skynard!:D
Shadowhawk 11-21-2001, 06:13 PM Ok, letsjust be 100% honest here... It's fear of complete and total, utter humiliation. :D I can throw a spinning outside reverse crescent kick almost as well as Jeff Speakman, but DAMNED if I've got any moves on the dance floor :(
phillycon 11-21-2001, 07:31 PM dancing is bad... i love my music and especially my guitar, but dancing is much bad. i dont like to dance and it doesnt like me
Powerboss 11-21-2001, 07:36 PM Dancing never did anything for me personally. I prefer playing it on the guitar or some other instrument.
Now, I will admit, it is very sexy to have a woman dance for you seductively. Thats good.
CodyChaos 11-21-2001, 08:28 PM I only shake the groove thing when i am extremely drunk.

Here is a funny thing: When I was in Junior High my parents forced me to join dancing school and I hated it. WHen I got into high school I did want to dance but could not find any girls to dance with. Now that I am an adult none of the ladies I was married two or any women I dated liked to dance. THe problem is I now like to dance but have no one to dance with.
Strange isnt it?
jello 11-25-2001, 11:55 PM for me personaly i love to dance. i like club dancing, breakdancing and swing mostly but i am open to anything when it comes to dancing. But when it comes to why guys don t dance i think is how some man see it as being a girl thing or gay then. It could also be what type of male role model the had growing up

Yes, that is correct, when it comes to gay guys.
To be honest, I not enjoy dancing. First off, it is not fun, perhaps if I get to feel her up, but even then its limited fun. Second, I do not feel like being judged. Women, girls, etc.: Stop trying to judge how he "might be", just have us **** you. Then you will know, and you can keep us or move on.
Men must pass these "tests" dancing, kissing, romance, and all that other crap. I buy her drinks until she forgets about the testing, then we ****. There is some romance for you.

I do like to slow dance with a lady. I like it because I like to put my arms around a lady and dancing is an acceptible way of doing it. Any other kind of dancing I dont like.

Hallelujah (sp)... I mean... its bullshit... sure girls like dancing... so go ****ing dance... I cant dance...so I dont try to... I also cant paint...so I dont try to paint, and I cant work on cars, so I dont try that either. Yeah some chicks could like me better if I did those things, but I dont...
So yer gunna have to live with it.
And if it is "testing" (which I dont THINK it is in Allegra's case...but who knows with her ;) ) then thats just even more bullshit

LOL!
You know it isn't because it took a long time before he felt brave enough to take me dancing.
However, that's such a good idea for a "test"...;)

No, its fun to convince them you can't dance, then allow them to drag you outonto the floor and stand there grinning while she grinds all up on you!!;)
D Durden 01-03-2002, 09:54 AM I dance . . . what's the big deal?

D Durden 01-03-2002, 01:38 PM Oh . . . .
well damn . . .
:D
Contraband 01-03-2002, 05:10 PM Can we possibly beat this dead topic anymore? To borrow a phrase from the ricer,
Stop beating the shit out of it with a dead horse. Enough!
D Durden 01-03-2002, 05:48 PM What are you trying to say . . . you don't dance?
Contraband 01-03-2002, 08:36 PM I didnt want to dive into the painful past, but yes, I was on dance team for 3 years, and yes, it was pretty cool and yes, I can cut the rug. Now please, never mention it again.
jwreck 01-04-2002, 03:15 AM **cough cough** DANCE TEAM!?
Aphasia 01-04-2002, 03:29 AM You know, I went to a couple of my school's dance team's parties, and they can be a lot of fun...nothing quite like being drunk in a pair of 4-inch strappy sandals, having some random guy you've never even seen before trying to teach you how to tango/mambo/salsa...
The jerk who pretended to be the best guy on the dance team stepped on my feet so many times, it wasn't even funny (and that time, I don't think either of us were even drunk).
Contraband 01-04-2002, 05:26 AM Yeah well, They had some hot chix on dance team. Hot older chicks. It was cool. Every saturday morning I was in 14 year old heaven.
