I tried this once, when I was feeling particularly chilled by the biting wind in Pittsburgh one day and decided to play around a bit, see if I could make myself feel warmer.
Next time you feel really cold, try just changing your perspective. Instead of thinking of the cold air as piercing your skin or chilling you to the inside, think of the cold air as merely taking the warmth away from the top layer of your body, off of the surface of your skin, and remember that you're warm blooded and that as soon as the warmth is taken away from your skin it is replaced immediately by more warmth from inside your body.
Prob'ly won't work in severe cold, where you could literally freeze to death, but in just a biting chill it works.
If anyone tries that, let me know if it works for you...I'm interested in responses.
