Anybody have any links for information on the Prussian Calvary? I've searched, but haven't found anything for the WWI guys...like this pic of my mom's dad taken Jun 1911...:p

You have to like that helmet. The Germans did have style. I would bet that their horses were some of the best in the world. They bred fine livestock and great dogs. Good beer, too.

Apparently that classy pointed helmet offered little protection against modern weapons. Thanks for the link, Pot.

That is why it was REPLACED by the Stahlhelm M16 (1916), which to date are the best series helmets ever made. And later versions are still used today.
