The Poltergeist Curse

Are the films in the Poltergeist trilogy cursed?

The rumors about a curse on the Poltergeist films began when several actors connected to the series died. Because of the unexpected nature of two of the deaths, some people believe that the productions were in some way cursed.

Tragically, four of the actors who appeared in the Poltergeist series really have died. The first was 22-year-old Dominique Dunne, who played Dana Freeling in the first film. Dunne died on November 4, 1982 after being choked to death.

Heather O'Rourke, who played Carol Anne Freeling, died on February 1, 1988. O' Rourke, who was the only cast member to appear in all three films, died of septic shock after bacterial toxins invaded her bloodstream. She was 12.

Although both Dunne and O'Rourke's deaths were unexpected, the other two were not. After an 18-month long battle with stomach cancer, Julian Beck (who played Kane) died at the age of 60. Will Sampson (who played Taylor the medicine man) died at the age on 53 due to post-operative kidney failure and pre-operative malnutrition.

You can write a lot of it off, but then again, you can write almost anything off. Is there something here that goes beyond the norm?

Have you seen the E True Hollywood Story about the Poltergeist Curse? Very interesting, pretty much just says everything you wrote about it. I'm really not sure wheter or not I believe in it, mainly because some of the people invovled have been successful (ex. Steven Speilberg and Craig T. Nelson) and most people invovled have been left unharmed. If there is a curse, I'd be interested to know the thread linking the four victims and leaving everyone else unharmed.
