I have a situation.. I work full time now and don't go to school.. I was going to school at nights part time at a local tech community college.. I am about half done with my associates degree there, and decided to look into eventually getting my bachelors.. well I found out that those stupid credits don't transfer to a 4 year college.. so now I am stuck.. I really do want to "feel" smart.. and accomplish something like a 4 year education.. I am in the computer science.. I am registered a local college that will transfer credits to a 4 year college.. I know it's worth it, but I guess I will just have to learn to live out money..
I just don't see new college grads stepping out making 50k a year..

Ummmm . . . what kind of community college do you go to? Every one of them around here transfer at about 100%. It's kinda' what they do, you know?

well all of my classes i have taken at my college have been computer classes.. none of them have been the core english math and stuff.. some of those transfer, but I have taken them..
I can get my associates going to this new college if I finish up at the tech college..
see it's confusing.. the one I went to isn't part of the UGA circle that is all intertransferable around here..
I work full time and go to school near full time...it can be hell...miss out on a lot fo relaxing, partying, and hanging out...but it is well worth it I think.
Most community colleges allow for transfer to universities...but some universities are picky with what they allow in.
Find the university you want to transfer to, and then pick classes accordingly.

Im pretty much in the same frame of mind...
First off, all of my classmates (from HS) have just graduated from 4-year colleges, and I don't know any of them making over $38,000. One is a CPA, one is an Insurance Underwriter, one is a Electronics Engineer, one is a Criminal Justice major working for the US Marshalls and one has no job. LOL So I don't have alot of faith in making $$ with a degree...
Plus I don't have the patience to sit around a 4-year university.
If you get your Associates Degree you should be able to transfer in as a junior to a 4-yr school.
I am in the Accelerated program at DeVry, taking 17 credit hours. Its great, I only goto class fridays from 6pm-10pm and Saturdays 8am-2pm. Thats it... Meanwhile I can work a 'REAL' job M-F ;)
But between those two things, running my business http://TRXParts.com, browsing DA & StangNet i barely have time to sleep...

Yeah a Bachelors degree is worthless unless you are going into education or scholarly fields, I regret being in a BA program In hindsight I would much rather have enrolled in an Associaste program and been done with school by now.
Maybe I can swap you my credits for your degree?

Ya, I wasn't sure what I was going to do at community college. But luckily they offer a transfer degree, so I went for that. Now I will either get a job after college, or transfer to another place and spend a couple more years learning.
I suggest you double check, and ask any colleges you were interested in. They might let you transfer some of the classes. But if none allow it, finish up there, and also take any certification tests.
