No offence Stage but the masks thing have been played out a bit. I understand you are very into drama however the millions upon millons of people who went and got those tats kinda made them one of the ones the artist snickers about now. I would advise seein if there was anything else somewhat similar and special to ya that way you can have some originality. However if that is what ya want more power to ya and you liking it is all that matters.:)

Well, after an IM convo with Scott, he and I found some interesting possibilities for a tat. Symbols for Dionysus, the God of theatre. He suggested it to me, and when he showed me a few pics I got hooked. It's cool.

Stage i like the first one, I think it would look a bit nicer if it was a little smaller but besides that its awesome! I like it, its totally you to with the whole theater thing :D Good job Aesir on finding it!

No I dont like the masks either I was agreeing that the first guy looked gay. Sorry i should have been more specific. i still dislike the masks and dislike the first guy. I have 6 tats myself so I understand the trouble you are going through deciding man. I would say that if your still looking right now, delay getting it a few days till your more sure.

The masks are cool man, get what you like... it's not everyone else's opinion that matter, but your own. A tattoo is something you get to make a statement about yourself, not something you get to seek approval for. I've known you long enough to know that acting is a huge part of your life, and what better way to show it (and a great way to remember all of your theatric success)? I'm stuck in Whittier 'till Friday, but if you want to wait 'till after then I'd be happy to go with you and help you pick something man (you haven't gone back to PA yet have you?). Well Stage first off your new avatar is throwin me for a loop cause I am so used to the other one. Secondly, I work with models and not actors so i am a bit under educated as to the kinds of things that side of the industry would hold dear to them. I would love to make some suggestions but am not sure as to what would be a good suggestion. Maybe one of those nifty chairs like ws in your previous avatar with something else with it. some thing like that that would signify your love for acting and yet not be so run of the mill as the masks are. I guess to me tats are supposed to be a little original and a bit unique so something like the masks that is so common would just not be it if i was the one getting the tat. but like i said earlier and as your friend said above me it is YOU getting it and not anyone else so i should be most about what you want and like and wouldnt feel funny about having 30 years from now.

Stage, I like the masks and I've seen them in black and white. Actually better in black and white because the symbolism can go more than one way.

It can stand for love of drama yes, but it also can stand for the complexity of life and people. From one extreme to the other, happy to sad, yes and also that you understand and value not only the joy, but the sorrow that without it you have nothing to compare the joy too.

It could mean... acceptance of life in it's confusing, exciting, enraging, depressing and joyous forms.

If you like the masks, get the masks, they come out looking just lovely.

Do remember that tattoos are permanent so whatever you get should be a permanent part of your soul already.

You could also try looking up Bacchus Zach, thats another name for Dionysus, of course Bacchus had more to do with wine really.....

If you are dead set on a tattoo, I'd go with the masks.. I know Scott thinks they are gay, but I think the greek stuff is gonna call out "fruity" in a louder voice... and masks are a timeless theater thing. They work.

Honestly though Xach... I say go with the masks, get what you want. Who cares if other people have it... unless your going to get a Penguin with a viking helment and pink slacks... you will never get a tattoo that someone else doesn't have something similar... actually they probably do.

I like the guy with the trumpet thing, yeah it might look a little gay, but it has a nice flowing motion that's attractive. And I agree, the masks are definately played out. If you get his name written underneath, it might help take away some of the flame-ness. :shrug:
