Where in the hell is the Mason-Dixon line? Just trying to figure out if Richmond, Virginia is actually in the south...

BTW, three stations in Cincy have it a .97/gallon...
So maybe the NORTH is where it's not at??? :D :D :D

A quick history lesson on the influence of Virginia during the Civil War:

Virginia seceded from the union and joined the CSA after the attack on Fort Sumter in April of 1861. Then in May 1861 the CSA capital was moved from Motgomery AL, to Richmond, VA. It remained the capital city until April 1865 when it was overtook by Union forces. During the course of the war, Virginia served as one of the main battle grounds as a result of Richmond being the capital of the CSA and it's closeness to the Union.

Some notable Virginian's that served in the CSA army during the C.S.A.'s brief existance:

Robert E. Lee, the general of the Confederate army, was a native of Stratford, Virginia. When Abraham Lincoln was elected President and some of the southern most states seceded, he was asked to command the U.S. army in order to extinguish the so-called rebellion. Lee refused the offer and instead signed on with the Confederate army.

Thomas "Stonewall" Jackason, perhaps the second most famous Confederate soldier, was born and raised in Lexington. Jackson earned his nickname during the first battle of Manassass where he was said to be "standing like a stone wall" against the Union Army.

Some notable C.S.A. monuments around Richmond:

The Museum of the Confederacy on Clay St.

Monument Avenue, a collection of large statues lining the streets picturing several Civil War heroes such as Robert E. Lee, Stonewall Jackson, JEB Stewart, etc. Might I add that Arthur Ashe has no place being depicted here and that his statue belongs in front of the Ashe Center, not mixed in with a group of Civil War heroes.

Jefferson Davis highway, named after Confderate President Jefferson Davis.

But umm...yea, I saw a couple stations at $0.89 on my way to class this morning.

I've seen 2 stations here outside of Atlanta at .89 a gallon now, but the average is still somewhere around .92 - .93 a gallon.
